Seriously, am I nuts to think he's going to be a Hall of Famer already***? The guy is special. He's winning with TJ McConnell and Robert Covington on the court with him. It's Saric and Embiid... something special is going on in South Philly.
***Provided he stays healthy.
Seriously, somebody opine on his ceiling.

Was down there Friday night, it was a blast. Can't wait til Simmons starts playing, there's an outside chance they battle for a playoff spot. Grab 1 or 2 guards in the draft and a good free agent and they could be a 4/5 seed next year.
Ceiling? He's as athletic a big man as I can remember. Plays like a young Hakeem on defense, but it way better offensively. Think Joel shows the pump fake a little too much at times and his handle isn't all that great right now, but he's only been playing for like 7 years and barely did jack the last 2 due to injury.
Scary how good he is getting. Hopefully they can get something for Okafor cause he's on the outside looking in right now. Not sure I'd keep Noel, but one of those two needs to stick around IMO, especially if Embiid gets hurt again.

This draft has some very good point Guards. If we can manage one of them and a SG- we could easily be a top team next year. Health matters as does chemistry, but now these guys are learning to win. Jo is unreal. He is also hilarious on Twitter if you don't follow him, I highly suggest you do.

He has "it". Already the most popular athlete in town (sorry Carson). Please lord keep him healthy! Crazy +/- numbers. Team mates love him. Makes them better

Being the frontrunner that I am...I started watching the Sixers a few weeks back. I can't think of anybody comparable to him...young Shaq with some ball handling and shooting skills. Scary upside. Trust the process?

I'm going tomorrow night. Crowd should be jumping.
There really isn't a comp for Embiid. Early Hakeem?

I'm going tomorrow night. Crowd should be jumping. There really isn't a comp for Embiid. Early Hakeem? Damn, I wanted your view of Jo Jo more than anybody else's. I know you follow the NBA more than me, and I follow it closely. I love hoops, all hoops. I actually don't watch a ton of Sixers. I got rid of cable. All my NBA intake comes through my NBA League Pass and local games are blocked out. I watch the Sixers when I can on a dicey stolen feed. And I absolutely did not go out of my way to watch them until the past month. I've watched way more Milwaukee Bucks (Giannis oh my god) and Memphis Grizzlies (Grit'n'Grind) games than Sixers. There are two keys to the team. Embiid being better than what anyone could imagine and the addition of Ersan Ilyasova. They flipped a guy who isn't much in Jerami Grant and a long ways away from doing anything to a really solid player who for some reason didn't fit on OKC. But Ersan was really good in Milwaukee. He really just gives them a good skilled veteran. He's not an All-Star, but a guy who has played a little bit really just helps. I'm hoping they keep Nerlens. Nerlens is a really good defensive center, especially for a second unit. He and Embiid can't really play together but he's a good sixth man. Jah sucks. Worst move Hinkie was drafting him. A guy as smart and forward-thinking as Hinkie should not have picked a post scorer who can't defend. Of course, he might have been handcuffed in his pick but man oh man was that blown. They'd be lucky to get a lottery pick for him. I still think RoCo is sort of a waste. He's really awesome on defense but his shot is non-existent. He's like a not-as-good Tony Allen who can sometimes fire. TJ's been a decent find. He's not a long-term answer as a starter but he's decent at diving around and the like. They have some pieces. I still don't know what we can expect with Simmons this year. He played Australian high school hoops two years ago.

I can't stand Covington. I like Nerlens, but would you pay him a max deal?

Roco is a STUD defender.
Ben Simmons played HS ball at an elite prep school in Fla 2 years ago, fwiw
Embiid is unprecedented with his size, stroke and defensive chops
He's scoring more points per 100 possessions than any rookie in NBA history (including MJ and Wilt), and his main value is currently defense. Think about that
If he stays healthy, he's a HOFer
