Joe : I hope not for Chris Arcidiacano's sake. I personally think it would be a huge mistake for Chris to attempt to follow in his older brother's vaunted Nikes at Villanova rather than to blaze his own path at another top D-I Program, one on the rise like Penn State, or even go Ivy League at Penn or Princeton. The " Ryan Arcidiacano - Lite " negative comparison would, I fear, haunt him at Villanova for all of his collegiate career no matter how good he was in his own right.
Besides, ( currently injured ) Wildcats freshman guard 6'-3", 190 lbs, Colin Gillespie from Archbishop Wood is a virtual clone of Chris Arcidiacano, except that Gillespie is quicker and probably more of an all-around talent. Gillespie is already poised to move into Jalen Brunson's PG position at the end of this season for at least the next 3 years. Jay Wright also has ( currently injured ) 6'-5", 225 lbs, freshman Jermain Samuels waiting in the wings.

Are we trying for Chris? Looks like a good candidate for a Four out offense

Neshaminy H.S.senior guard Chris Arcidiacano knotches 1000 career points.
Remarkably, he had scored only 201 points in his first two high school seasons ( 4.7 ppg average ). He then averaged 21.4 ppg as a junior, and is now averaging 25.6 ppg as a senior.

Any word on why Jack Clark missed his last two games at Cheltenham. Ed Croswell missed his last game at SJP. It's tough to get stats on Putnam Science for their team. Told Double O was pretty close to averaging a double double against top flight competition. EDIT: Terrible news. A friend alerted me to COBL article on Abington- Cheltenham game which said that Jack Clark suffered a knee injury against Upper Dublin and may be lost for the season. When he rains it pours. www.cityofbasketballlove.com/news_article/show/878070?referrer_id=1566508Good Luck Jack. Let's hope the injury is not too serious and you come back healthy.

Jellybean - I got some info on Double-O at Putnam Science. Apparently he is coming on as the season progresses. I found three games where he went for 14 pts, 14 rebs / 20 pts, 10 rebs / 16 pts, 7 rebs, 3 blks.
Yes, he does play in the extremely tough NERR. A bunch of top flight New England private & graduate schools, I think. Many, many big time players have come out of the NERR competition.

stlexplorer : Since you asked, I had to scan and attach the Chris Arcidiacano newspaper article in question that appeared in the sports section of the Bucks County Courier, which requires you to be a paid subscriber in order to access / open the URLs for their online digital edition. I trust that this satisfies your inquiry.

Witnessed both Ed Croswell (reminds me of Jerrell Wright) and Jack Clark (don't laugh, I saw a Rip Hamilton in there) perform versus the Archbishop Ryan Raiders recently/Holiday season. Hoping/Praying JC injury isn't as bad as it seems. Although the 'red shirt' year is available...Which leads me to, does anyone have any insight into Cian Sullivan's injury??? He appeared in crutches about a month ago and I haven't read anything about the situation since.

Kale has said on broadcast it's some sort of injury to the Patella Tendon which doesn't ever sound good.

Looks like our recruit Jared Kimbrough is having a great season. He should be a strong low post player for us next year. His twitter feed has some good info: twitter.com/ballislifej13?lang=en

Not a recruiting post but I was shocked to see 5 PCL games last night all decided by 17 or more points. Maybe the biggest surprise was SJP destroying a pretty good LSCHS squad by 35.
Ed Croswell had 14 points, 12 rebounds and 3 blocks.

Are we interested in Chris Arcidiacano? If he's half as tough as his brother I would love to have him.

Lauren LeglerThis is irrelevant to the thread. Tim Legler's daughter scored her 1000th point at Neumann University. Then, again, maybe Legs is a coaching prospect....

Holy Family is still D2 I think. I'm hesitant because of the league. I know the PCL. I can see what Daly did to it.

Saw a tremendous game last night in the PCl. Roman played at a packed Wood gym. Game had everything you want. Roman won 75-73 but Wood had two great looks from 3 by Pickron and Funk in the last 10 seconds. The best $5 dollars you can spend for entertainment.
Those debating the Ryan Daly recruitment should start the conversation about Wood's Andrew Funk who is going to Bucknell. He is a 6-3/6-4 guard who can handle the ball. Tough as nails. Has a Legler like shot from 3( some close to NBA range). Not afraid to take his man off the dribble and drive the lane for a layup. The last statement makes me feel he can play at the A10 level. I always thought he should have been recruited higher but obviously Bucknell is a great school. Last night he had 35 points, 6 boards, 6 assists and 2 steals.
Seth Lundy from Roman is a 6-6 JR Swing who slugged it out with Funk. Had 30 points on 12-20 from the field with 3-4 from beyond the arc. He had 30 points, 13 rebounds and 3 assists. Another tough as nails guy. For the old timers, he reminds me of Billy Taylor from the great JB teams.
Lundy has offers from La Salle as well as locals Temple and St. Joe. Others mentioned in today's INKY were Bowling Green ( have a local guy who recruits the heck out of this area),UCONN, Oregon, VCU and Penn State. Earlier this year I know that Ohio State, Oklahoma State and Tulane were in to see him at Philly U. in December.
Ed Croswell had 17 in a losing effort to Neumann-Goretti (71-67). Won the battle individual battle with N-G's 6-9 250 Marcus Littles who had 8.

Will be a good player. Doesn't have the dynamism that Daly does, in my opinion. Wouldn't be a starter at La Salle.

I don't know what "dynamism" means but I have seen him more than hold his own not only in the uber-competitive PCL but against some of the best HS teams on the East Coast the last two years. As I said what sealed the deal for me that he could play at the A10 level was his ability to get to the rim against that level of competition. Everyone see his outside but the ability to get to the rim separates him.
I think he would get a lot of time at La Salle and I didn't even mention his Basketball IQ.
I guess we will agree to disagree.

Does he play over Traci Carter or Jamir Moultrie or Pookie Powell or Saul Phiri or Isaiah Deas? Does he play over Jack Clark when he comes back? Or Ed Croswell or Jared Kimbrough (swing players for when you say they play different positions). He's a good player (and his parents are family friends, actually). His brother is a good player. I like their games and if G recruited them, I wouldn't say a negative word about it. But there is a reason his best offer was from the Patriot league.

Might be the only one of the team. So the answer is No. Pookie Powell might not be back next year. So if he's not back. Yes I would take a guard to fill that spot. Is he better than Moultrie? Moultrie is probably better but IMO his strength is shooting the 3 which is the same as Funk. Does Moultrie get to the rim and draw fouls? No. Funk might have an advantage. Deas has better offensive skills but is inconsistent. Advantage is still Deas. Phiri gives us very little offensively. He takes 3's but doesn't drive or draw fouls. Defensively he has had a few good games and the rest IMO are average. So I would take Funk. How does he compare to Clark? Seen Clark once. IMO he is very comparable. Clark is taller and could still be growing. Croswell is not a swing. Kimbrough is being touted as a Steve Smith type. So both are forwards. As for Bucknell being his best offer, yes but he decided very early. If he did not I can see more higher level offers. A local talent evaluator told me he is better than Patriot League but at the time was probably the perfect choice.
