I like giving him an extra year to develop before he comes to La Salle. I'm not real comfortable with his quote, "I want to work on my basketball and not worry about anything else, so that's why I choose Putnam.” Hmmmm....academics, perhaps? Although this article: www.norwichbulletin.com/article/20150328/SPORTS/150329507 from Spring 2015 makes it sound like the Putnam Basketball Academy since they didn't get their accreditation and altered the "branding" of the place.

I also found that quote off-putting but I'm hoping not hearing it and just reading it causes it to not come off the way it was meant

I've heard he's an excellent student. I think the implication there, which perhaps could have been clearer, was that his academics are wholly in order, but he's still adapting his body and game to big-time basketball.

La Salle supposedly has been interested in 6-8 230 '19 Tariq Ingraham. Glorydays was dismayed when he left Salesianum DE last season. Rumors were he was following some of his AAU buddies to Ranney School in Central New Jersey. This weekend he was playing with Bonner/Prendie. Time to grab the red flags.

Glorydays isn't the only one to have matriculated from Salesianum to La Salle.

I think Tariq's pop may have panicked after Tariq lost his books during the first semester of his Sophomore year at Salesianum. He bolted of Raney. Now he is at Bonner.
(Delaware only plays 20 regular season HS games and the college scouts are not crawling all over the First State. DiVincenzo is probably the best player in the history of Salesianum.)
For real old people Tariq reminds me of Boo Ellis.

Glorydays isn't the only one to have matriculated from Salesianum to La Salle. Salesianum class of '16 had 5 freshmen go to LaSalle. Delaware has such a relatively low instate tuition that you're not going to get too many Big S boys. Delsu, maybe I will run into you in Dewey.

I thought I might be older than I thought until I realized I confused your Boo Ellis with Bo Ellis.

.....and I messed this up. I actually meant to say that Ingraham reminds me of Manny Leaks.( When I was in HS I used to go the Eastern League games in Wilmington. Boo Ellis played for the Bombers. He had a face like the Indian on the Buffalo Nickel.....)
Manny Leaks. See if you can remember him playing against La Salle....

Manny Leaks. See if you can remember him playing against La Salle.... Leaks played at Niagara; part of his career with Calvin Murphy. They lit up LaSalle one time in the days when I was a yet to be an Explorer.

Pretty sure that Leaks played for the 76ers in early 70s on a terrible team.

Screamer....confirmed. From Wikipedia...
Born in Cleveland, Ohio, Leaks was a 6'8" forward/center who played at Niagara University from 1965 to 1968. He averaged 17.3 points and 15.1 rebounds per game over his collegiate career,[1] and pulled down 30 rebounds in a 1966 game against Syracuse University.[2]
Leaks was selected by the Detroit Pistons with the 20th pick of the 1968 NBA draft, but he began his professional career in the American Basketball Association, where he played four seasons as a member of the Kentucky Colonels, New York Nets, Dallas Chaparrals, Texas Chaparrals, Utah Stars, and Floridians. He averaged 13.5 points and 9.9 rebounds per game during his stint in the ABA,[3] which ended in 1972 in the wake of salary disputes with the Floridians.[4] From 1972 to 1974, Leaks played in the NBA as a member of the Philadelphia 76ers and Capital Bullets, averaging 8.3 points and 6.8 rebounds per game
As a side note...I LOVED watching the old ABA and their red white and blue BBalls. Especially Dr. J and the NY Nets.

Absolutely insane stories.

They lit up LaSalle one time in the days when I was a yet to be an Explorer. Yes, he was a senior when Calvin Murphy was a sophomore. That was one disappointing night but Calvin Murphy was unconscious. Murphy was covered by Fatty Taylor and Fatty was a great defensive player. Murphy had 52 points and didn't even miss during warm ups... If they had the 3 point line he would have scored over 60 that night. Manny Leaks had many rebounds.

Good article but I got a good laugh about he part that SJU will challenge for an A10 title. Decent lineup, but more like a 4-8 team if you ask me: G Shavar Newkirk, G Lamarr Kimble wing James Demery 6-7 wing Charlie Brown, Pierfrancesco Oliva

If it was us, Maryland, and Georgetown I would be a little more excited . It's going to be hard to win the Atlantic 10 if these are the schools we are competing with .

We are not beating Georgetown and Maryland for recruits. I am pretty sure if Kimbrough waited till the Spring he would end up with some very good offers. La Salle must find these type of kids before they blow up. I would love to have him. Look at G's record with very early targets and commitments. He has a pretty good track record.

You mean 5-13, 2nd to last in-conference Georgetown? If we're serious about this program, we should be competing with and beating Duke for players.
