This will be the ONE thread for this from now until Election Day. No topics are off-limits per se, but trolling and personal attacks aren't any more allowed here than they usually are (attack the post, not the poster).
If I don't like where it goes, or how people act, we'll close it down, but as someone who's very interested in elections in general (I love Election Night and the maps, polls etc.) and have strong feelings about this Election in particular, I'm hoping we can have at least a baseline level of civil discussion.

Okay, I'll start the chaos - and think only word is needed - OBAMACARE. This word is like blood to the conservative sharks. Let's get this going!

They should have booed Shady Katie McGinty (S. Joesph's of Pennsy) off the Gola stage today. Her website still boasts that she was the first in her family to go to a "four year college" - that's an amendment to an earlier claim that she was the first to go to a college. Big bro McGinty went to La Salle years before her. Shady Katie- liar or dismissive of our fine institution? Take your pick.

McGinty lied about getting a degree from La Salle. They should give her an honorary degree in Mortuary Science because her political career should be dead after that bush-league move.

SJU of Penna. alumnus and magis product Katie McGinty called out by Toomey in televised debate tonight (on 7pm on CBS3) about her false claim of being first in family to attend college. "But if there's anything from this debate that could add new fodder to the battle, it may be this moment. Throughout the debate Toomey accused McGinty of dishonesty, saying her run "began with a big fat lie" and citing her claim to being the first in her family to go to a four-year college, when it turns out a brother had gone first." www.philly.com/philly/blogs/capitolinq/Key-take-aways-from-the-first-Pat-Toomey-Katie-McGinty-US-Senate-debate.html

I literally have no idea what I am ultimately doing Election Day.
1) I know that I am in no way at all voting for Trump.
2) Do I vomit in my mouth and vote for Hilary? Or do I just not vote for president and go everywhere else? Do I maybe write in Bernie? Do I get dizzy wishing I had a choice like I did in 2008 and 2012 where a very respectable Obama took on very respectable men in John McCain and Mitt Romney and each side actually presented me with options as to who was best for the country?
3) I won't get into the HRC and Bill issues that have been well documented by now. Like... they're gross people, to say the least. But the people under her are just total slimebags.
The Wall Street Journal just had something this week about Terry McAuliffe donating hundreds of thousands to the political campaign of an FBI agent who was involved to some degree with the Clinton investigation. Say what you want about the merits of an investigation into a private server, that's just so disgusting. To every degree imaginable. Why is that glaring conflict-of-interest even remotely fine under our laws? And it's not like it's Breitbart or Fox reporting this. The WSJ is on the short list of most respected newspapers in the history of journalism. Like... come on. Why does my intelligence constantly have to get insulted?
3A) Even grosser was everything with Fattah. I live in his district and he was the worst. I heard from someone very much in the know that it was widely known he had his hand out for bribes and the like since the day he was elected to Congress. Yet he was allowed to move up the ranks to the House Appropriations Committee. They couldn't even bury him on some back-bench where he'd remain a no-name?
Then that con man Rendell came out and testified on Fattah's behalf and say we should all have politically connected friends who pay for our child's college tuition.
It's just like... Do these people actually believe these things?
They were also all SuperDelegates. Come on.

Atleast at the national level, I vote for issues, not people. Like I can't fathom a world where I vote for a republican who's part of the current iteration of the party.

And even before "Fair and balanced" Rupert earned the WSJ, it was already known as an ultra-conservative paper. It's hard to take any media outlet serious anymore. They all are slanted to their own candidate or agenda. With all of that said, I'm not the biggest fan of HRC, but JoeF hit the nail squarely on when he said "One guy ruins the nation. Any vote other than a vote for the person that could stop that...is a vote for that possibility."

Heard Burns is on short list for Sec of State in a HRH administration.
New McGinty commercial showcases that she is a basketball fan...and we all know Hawk fans are the worst. I never vote for those connected to Joes.

The WSJ's editorial page is really right-wing, but that's okay. Editorial pages are supposed to have a slant. But their front page and news section holds corporations and big business and etc. accountable like no one else. Most of the Epi-Pen reporting came from WSJ reports. Even though it was 15 years ago, Enron collapsed because the WSJ reporters unearthed a weird detail in a footnote that led to its demise. One of the most damning articles about Trump came from them, too.
It really is one of the most respected newspapers in the history of journalism. It's owned by Rupert Murdoch but that hasn't changed the quality of its reporting.

I don't think the WSJ is pro-Trump, but they are definitively anti-Clinton. Always have been.

t's hard to take any media outlet serious anymore. They all are slanted to their own candidate or agenda. On some level, I think the CNN "agenda" of whatever is most sensational might even be worse than the far left or far right biased "news".

Other than that, carry on.
