La Salle looked solid in that sequence

I hope Garland's shooting now pays off down the road because he's not making squat...

I think Rampn has 45 assists this half.

Garland can't take quick bad shots like that

This game shouldn't be this close

So would anybody say garland is doing more harm than good to this team? Maybe he's getting a green light to shoot off the rust quicker? I'm just sayin anything right now...

No chemistry with Garland yet. He's disrupting the flow. I just hope Garland understands that Galloway is the star on this team.

Galloway is destroying this team without scoring a point

Garland Comes Alive. I hope there is a MBA scout here because Ramon is looking like a league point guard right now.

That should be NBA scout. There are business school profs here, however.

Garland has 21. Ramon has to have 10 assists. He is having an unreal game.

Good, solid win. La Salle looked awesome at times. Galloway was a beast tonight. Garland needs to increase his shooting percentage and choose his shots better but I'm glad he caught on fire.

FINAL. La Salle 88- Iona 72. Pulled away nicely in the 2nd Half.

This will sound strange for a team that plays such a crazy tempo, but I really think Iona wore out by the end of the game. There's a difference between going cold from the field and missing everything short.

It was a track meet. Each team took over 70 shots which is just insane. It reminded me of Westhead's old La Salle teams (and Loyola Marymount of course). I'm just glad they finally pulled away.

Garland shot 10-22. Not too bad. I know he shot poorly from 3 in the first half, but overall I'll take 45% from a guard.

It was a nice enough win because they battled back from being down double-digits in the first half, but you can't help but think about what would happen if they get into a deficit like that against the better teams of the Atlantic Ten. Hopefully, they'll develop further before that becomes an issue. Galloway did a good job limiting his fouls tonight.
I'd like to see them have blowout wins against 2-7 Sacred Heart on Saturday and 2-9 Siena the following Saturday before heading into Miami.

Just got home. More thoughts:
1) We got caught up in the pace in the first half. It was completely insane and a lot of fun to watch. I wish more teams played like this. Too many teams are completely overcoached these days. I loved those LMU teams so much and a bunch of other teams ran in that time period, too. I wish we had a bunch more teams that just rolled out the ball and went nuts.
2) I think this may have been Ramon's best game. He was completely unstoppable in the first half. In the second half, he completely adjusted knowing they were going to key on him and made some incredibly passes. I can 100% see him in the NBA.
3) Can somebody make a Ramon Galloway highlight reel? He had two more all-time plays tonight. The first was a crazy oop from Sam. The second was a half-court bounce pass to Rohan.
4) it was just a matter of time until Ty Garland got going. They left him wide open and dared him to make threes. And then he started to. Joe in his write-up says he scored 14 straight at one point. That's not surprising. He can get to the rim. He looks like he's on par as a finisher with Tyreek.
5) Jerrell was really good. I think G went with Zack for a long period time because he's a good passer but Jerrell was really good on offense. Super efficient, a lot of hustle rebounds, etc.
6) Iona's big guy who was in his first game tonight ate Steve alive. Their big guy ended up with 22 and 14. He dribbled like a guard. Seriously, that guy is REAL good.
7) Tyreek was really quiet tonight but he took over control at so many key points. He just understands how to play in the flow of a game magically well. He knew to be a complimentary player tonight. He stayed out of Ramon's way and Garland's way but acted like a pilot taking the plane down on the runway at the end of the first half and also in the second. There's nothing more than needs to be said.
8) Teams are focusing on Sam and making him take it to the hole. He finished a few times tonight.
9) DJ's hit a shooting slump.
That's pretty much it. That was a good solid win on a very talented team (Momo Jones is really good.) that plays an outlier, tricky system.

I missed the whole game but after reading this thread it got me wondering. Could we survive just trying to run teams out of the building? I think we'd get too sloppy playing at a frantic back and forth pace but I kinda would like to see them give it a go. Just all out, balls to the wall

I think we'd get too sloppy playing at a frantic back and forth pace but I kinda would like to see them give it a go. Just all out, balls to the wall It'd be interesting to see. We definitely have some really great ball handlers and passers and shooters. But I don't think we can do it with what we have now. More possessions means more missed shots means more rebounds. We won the boards tonight but that's not going to happen too often. You also increase the chances of picking up fouls. We have guard depth but certainly don't have frontcourt depth.
