I know Canisius is improved but damn that is a surprise.

I'm getting tired of noting other coaches turning programs around so quickly during our very slow progression. Jim Baron is showing what a great in-game coach he is. He turned this program around in 2 months. Familiarity of A10 teams also helps.
I'm also amazed at how good his own children are at basketball. Guy knows how to coach kids.

I know Canisius is improved but damn that is a surprise. And Temple was at home. Canisius has a solid RPI, but this could be a loss that will hurt Temple down the road when it comes to getting a bid. I would be shocked if Temple stays within 15 points of either Syracuse or Kansas (the two big games they have left in the OOC). I think Temple's point guard position will ultimately hold them back some this year.

Is it sad, I completely agree? I enjoy seeing Dunphy and Temple lose almost as much as St. Joe's

I can only imagine this board if we lost a home to Canisius... Oh wait, where's that CCSU thread?

I think this board was created in the spirit of NOT forcing opinions on others. There are some on this board that are as annoying as some on the old board. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and do not deserve to have their ideas marginalized.
I happen to agree, the loss to a 4-4 Central Conc. team which lost to Hartford is a terrible one. It's about matching team expectations to level of opponents. With the expectations I have for this team, I expect us to dismantle a team like Central Conn. Their loss leads me to believe that my expectations are too high.

Funny that Keith Pompey doesn't slip in the attendance figure in the first paragraph like most of the writers do when they cover a La Salle game. Last night's "announced" attendance at Temple was 3258 or 32% of capacity. I bet you if La Salle had 1300(maybe like the next two games) it would be in the first paragraph.
Sorry just a pet peeve of mine.

As a potential NCAA team, I completely expect the team to win by double digits AT home against CCSU. That didn't happen...I'm willing to chalk it up as early season rust. The team lost, I moved on...if the school runs the table (hypothetically) I wouldn't even think that loss had any impact on the season.

If Garland plays to the level we expect, his starting after the CCSU game will serve to excuse the loss.

(Also, by the transitive property being used above with CCSU and Hartford (who we beat, so I don't even get it), all but about a dozen teams in the nation suck by the time in conference play starts.)

In his job as #1 Temple cheerleader, he's not allowed to write even one negative comment. Can't wait for his review of the La Salle students when we play them in February. Even though Temple doesn't have any foreign players on the roster this year, maybe for old times sake they can bring out the "Taco Bell" and "USA" chants for him. Our students better make sure they don't direct any chants at Wyatt either. He's certainly already paid his dues for his transgressions in AC over the summer with that long suspension they gave him...... Oh that's right, they didn't even make him sit out an exhibition game.

Yep, I'm still scratching my head how Wyatt didn't get some sort of a suspension (even if it was a game, or two, or three). Doesn't there need to be some consequence when we mess up? The lack of action in this situation is definitely a reflection upon Temple in my opinion.

Their game against Alcorn St was sparsley attended at best. The fans must be holding out for the brutal Big East slate next season...

Looks like the key to beating Temple is to hold them to 4-28 from 3, including 1-16 from Wyatt and Scootie. Classic trap game against a decent 7-2 Canisius team with Cuse looming this Saturday.

The official attendance was 3,258. It looked like fewer than 2,100 fans at the Liacouras Center to me. c'mon, son.

La Salle is my #1, but I'm also a Temple and Drexel fan. Neutral on Penn. I used to HATE St. Joes and Nova, but eh, I really don't care anymore.

With that said, I hope St. Joes loses to Fairfield today. Still keeping hope alive La Salle get's invited into the Catholic 7 and not St. Joes. Doubt records/game results this year matter however; St. Joe's has much better fan support and a better arena than we do.

Got to give Temple a lot of credit for their big win today. Not their biggest fan, but you have to give credit where credit is due and that was a big win.

And X loses to Wofford at home. Seems you just can't take any team for granted, even at home.
