Presently they are in 6th place with a 4-3-1 record just ahead on both opponents for this week in GMU and DUQ who are 4-4. I would have to say the WSOC team needs to defeat both. Thurday's match is at GMU and La Salle hosts DUQ on Sunday.
If they win both, the best they can finish IMO is 4th. If they lose both, they are out of the playoffs.

JB, while you could be right enough about the worst case scenario, the odds are not so bad. Right now the explorers' magic number is just three points, so a win in either match will have us finishing ahead of whichever team we beat, securing us a lock in the top 8. Even if La Salle fails to secure the three points as needed, there remain only two teams that could still move up to push La Salle out of the playoff spot, but it's rather unlikely for either one of them (#9 Umass and #10 SLU)... both UMass and SLU have tiebreakers over La Salle, but it is not expected to finish with the same record with either of these teams unless many things go wrong.
Ninth place UMass has a rather tough remaining schedule (at SJU, vs Dayton). UMass, at 11 pts, would need to win either (tie both) of those remaining games, while La Salle loses both of our remaining games, just for umass to get caught up to La Salle's current total of 13 pts. Umass way into the playoffs depends much on winning, while also getting help from either Duquesne or Mason or La Salle losing remaining matches.
SLU could also win out and just make the playoffs, with lots of help. SLU and La Salle tied last week, but St Louis would gain a theoretical tiebreaker over La Salle at 4-5-1 if the two teams should end up there. This scenario would only happen if La Salle were to lose out, while SLU goes on the road to take out both the #1 and #2 teams, which just can't happen, given the talent at GW and at VCU.
When it comes to final tourney seeding, remember we have plenty of tiebreakers that will come in handy, namely La Salle over SJU and La Salle over Dayton, La Salle over Richmond (head to head), and La Salle over Fordham (by virtue of results vs common opponent Dayton).
I am less concerned of the 1/4/5/8 seed line than the 2/3/6/7. The 6&7 finisher likely plays Dayton and VCU in the first two rounds and GW in the finals. On a neutral site, Dayton and VCU could romp. We seem to match up better with GW and Gw is due for a correction.

We're officially in. Seed will be 4,5, or 6.

Big win for WSOC defeating SJU 2-1. Bower with a low line drive from about the 18 for the game winner. Now face Duquesne who upset Dayton in PK's. Wild day as ALL the top seeds lost.

They lost 2-1 to Duquesne. The Dukes play Fordham for the title.
On the flip side, here was the winning goal last night. Pretty sweet

On the one hand, it is disappointing that the one year Comcast broadcasts the A10 finals, La Salle is not in it, having been there for the previous three seasons. And on the same hand, it is too bad that Duquesne stole our mojo, won three straight in four days, and is going to play at WVU instead of us.
On the flip side... it was a great tournament. Since there were two ties, seven elimination games were decided by a mere six goals. I am proud that the ladies made it as far as they did, and played gutsy soccer. In what could have been considered a "down" year, we secured the sixth straight A10 semifinals berth for the program. We got better as the season wore on, and proved that the depth at goalkeeper position is still there as usual. La Salle beat the Hawks twice down the stretch, with the game winner coming from Madi Bower both times.
I do wish the first round could be held on campus sites, so I could have seen a playoff match this year. But the coverage online was pretty adequate, and the youtube recaps of the goals are helpful for anyone who missed the live action.
