The female candidate in the first go around was willing to become President and her husband was a Professor and Department Head. He was offered a position at La Salle I believe if she had taken the job.
Dr. Hanycz's husband works for All State Insurance of Canada I believe.
I am glad I wasn't the only one who wondered what that comment meant?

Why would you publicly release the names and profiles of the finalists? I'm sure the one who isn't selected will be very appreciative that his / her unsuccessful candidacy was a public one.

It is the nature of the level of business. Not applying to be a marketing assistant here. There should be more transparency and openness, not less if you ask me.

The runner up will "withdraw" at some point.
OT: Article was fine, on the other hand the comments section was the usual for Philly.com. Probably mostly City Avenue people, who actually have had a number of threads about our presidency. Like a Soviet sub off the coast of New Jersey, City Avenue always likes to keep an eye on us.

Let's just pretend for a minute and keep the Cold War theme going... If the new prez came out swinging and landed funding for like a 6,000 seat Arena w/ practice and training facilities, would the folks on City Line start doing bombing drills in class... So to speak? Meaning, could we actually get them to admit we had something that was better than its counterpart? Just fun speculating how a new prez might make a mark

Dr. A announces a capital campaign for a new arena which will be completed by 2018 on West Campus. HOF area where beer served too. Action News captures reaction of Joe Cabrey, Phillip Martelli and Joseph Lunardi...

CK, how are you any different than Steve at this point? Let me answer that- you're not. If we can call Steve an ass####, then I reserve the right to do the same to you for being the same type of jerkoff that he is by introducing politics. I nailed CK for this same thing awhile back.

Aretz seems like a stronger candidate on paper. Hanycz seems like a very nice person, but honestly I am surprised she is in the same conversation with Aretz for this job, given that she is coming from a much smaller, all girls school in Canada with a tiny financial endowment. The fact that both are being publicly showcased is not a really great strategic decision IMO, especially since the lead candidate came off the hook last year late in the process. I don't see the need for transparency given past history and the need to lock someone down. After two years of this process, this should not now resemble a High School President runoff. This is a major strategic decision, not a Glee episode where the students get to vote. Sorry, but after cringing at numerous turns in the entire two year search process, I would say this looks less like a transparency issue. Rather, it looks more like a case study in how NOT to run a search.
