After a decent shooting performance in the losing effort at Temple (72-75), La Salle lost at Penn by 29-57, with 13 pts at halftime and 16 pts after the break. Shooting our way out of a slump doesn't work! We can't shoot eleven treys and miss them all.
Our leading scorer on the box score finished the game with a 1/1 line and 7 total pts. I wasn't at the game, but that looks to mean that the ball isn't being distributed. With points leader AliciaCropper (16.0 PPG) not in the game, no one else stepped up and fulfilled the role of shooter. Two made field goals, and nothing made from three, was the team high for 40 minutes of basketball. We did not score points against Penn's bench much either, so not sure how much defense had to do with it.
Our record in the Big 5 is the only thing that will get this program back to relevant. Williams's Records vs Big5 programs since 2010:
0-5 in 2010-11 1-3 in 2011-12 1-3 in 2012-13 0-5 in 2013-14 0-2 in 2014-15 (Total: 2-18 in 4.5 seasons)
You know I am not one of the posters that will post criticism after every loss. I also don't like when a program loses so often, it breaks its own low scoring records. We've gone from being critical of the WBB program after every loss, to not talking about the program at all because there is no good news since kicking Xavier out of the conference tournament one time. There were five times in the terrible 2010 season where the team scored 40 pts or less, but scoring 29 in a game is a new level of low. Time to turn this ship around. We haven't even played the likes of Villanova, Dayton, or St Joe's yet, and that's scary.

Congrats to Jeff Williams and the entire WBB team, winners of six straight to follow up this which I had just almost deemed the worst loss in program history. Now show us a big 5 scalp this year and I'd be really impressed.

And with Title IX they'll want the same "pay" as the men?

Lost to Ohio U last night. Some ugly stats for LSU. Only 6 assists on 20 made baskets. Had ast/to ratio of 6:24. Negative 4 to 1. Ohio U had only 7 steals so 17 turnovers were considered "unforced". Sloppy. That -4 to 1 ratio might be the worst I have ever seen and that includes coaching my daughter's grade school teams.
