He reached the 4,000 combined points and rebounds club... any player that can do that deserves the utmost recognition. Doug McDermott Stat Summary:

Anyone care to wager as to the pro prospects for Doug McDermot? How high does he go in the draft and how long of a career does he have? Will he be an impact player?

Why do we need an "appreciation thread" for a player who plays for someone else? He had a very nice career but so have other players. Are you related to him?

Great college player but unsure of why we should have a thread about a player not only not from La Salle but not even a player from the A10.

I clicked through to see if we were appreciating the fact that he left Gola and Simmons records intact for the completely foreseeable future. That certainly has something to do with La Salle basketball.
Regardless, between the UConn and KY bashing, the content is pretty thin this time of year so I am not going to cry about it.

Nothing much to talk about, so I thought I would comment. Is he Adam Morrison, Kyle Korver or Larry Bird? He is NOT Bird or close to it.I liked Morrison coming out of college and either he was overrated or injuries or something.McD is such a good shooter and all NBA teams seem to need one. Thus-Korver. If he can guard a NBA small forward he will be better than KK because he will be able to play more minutes.Would be best on a team with a shot blocking center-anybody is-but it would let him play more and do what he does best-score.

He reminds me of Antoine Walker. This thread is pretty funny, how can you complain the subject says it all. If you click on it, there must be some interest, I am guilty.

Disclaimer: I have never seen the guy play, but I think it's funny that the comparisons are automatically made to other white players. What, no Danny Ferry mentions? Screamer - definitely not taking a shot at you. It just made me laugh, and provided interesting food for thought.

I actually thought about the "white" thing when I commented. There have been small white players who were fleet afoot-John Stockton; maybe Steve Kerr but not many athletically gifted white big guys. Going way back, maybe McD could be compared to Chet the Jet Walker- and if he is as good, take him early. I also thought of our own Steve Black-one of the most gifted scorers ever, but who could not play NBA D-but Black was not a forward. Its all about foot speed and lateral movement, and big white players that make the NBA might be a little challenged in that regard. Se Bailey Howell. If a forward coming out can score like Chet and D like Bobby Jones, take him #1.
