Cole was at the Nova game actually, altho I could be confusing him with the kid who transferred to Siena. Whichever one was more blonde than the other. One of those 2 kids was there.

thanks guys so now what happens with that do they get those scholships back? griffin was at the nova game not stefan Baroum never even enrolled at La Salle so he never used a scholarship. Devon White ended up taking it. Stefan transferred out after one season, which freed up a scholarship and allowed them to bring in an extra guard (either DJ Peterson or Ramon Galloway) in the following class.

It does not look like Devon has appeared in a game either. Devon White is out until Christmas with an injury.

Kore White at USF. Averaging 7 pts and 3.3 rebounds in 20 mpg coming off the bench. He definitely would have helped here from an ability standpoint but I heard a rumor that they feared he may have created some chemistry problems here and no tears where shed when he went to USF.

White would have helped as a backup Big, but wasnt he suppossed to be better than that?

Cole had LOTS of issues. Let's leave it at that. I hope he enjoys what is left of his college career.

"he must not have had that many problems because he on WGB". So you think I just made up the answer? Wrong. As for landing at another school, great for both parties. 2. You make this a "La Salle /G problem". You don't really know someone until you spend lots of time with them. Just look at the divorce rate in this country. Last year there were over 400 D-1 transfers...might even been 500. It is a sign of the times. 3. Lumping in Matt Lopez was irrelevant. He had a COMPLETELY different reason for transferring. It had absolutely NOTHING to do with La Salle, the school, the team, the coach and his staff or playing time. Leaving the area was the best thing for the young man. 4. As for stating a reason for them transferring. What about privacy issues for the young people? Again, they transferred. I wish them the best.

jelly bean-i get it about the privacy reasons i was just trying to learn as to why we lost some kids. jelly bean thanks for responding i am trying to learn as too y we recruit kids and them let them leave? that is all. we have have a transfer leave each of the last 4 years.(griffin murray lopez, stefan, devon white.) those are schorships we could have used for other people for people who want to play here. sorry i upset u i just dont understand i guess. I dont see alot of other top programs losing a kid a year. So i was just trying to find out. it is just frustrating that is all. And even more frustrating when you do not know reasons. Thanks for responding and i look forward to another great year from our explorers

All programs lose kids. It is an epidemic in college basketball. La Salle is no different than any other school.
When we lose contributing players then there is cause for alarm. G has done a good job of keeping kids that are important to the program.

White chose to not play his last year.
Keep in mind we also netted Galloway, Garland, Pettis, Lewis, Weingarten and Dunn through transfer, and picked up players like Vernon Goodridge and Hunt after they played elsewhere. I'd say in the grand balance of transfers, we've done pretty well.
Apart from Murray, who shows flashes of talent when he isn't being a selfish jerk (which is admittedly rare) any players we lose aren't necessarily "top players," no offense to them. They're more role players or bench guys who want to get more time elsewhere, or have other circumstances that cause them to leave. Overall, I'd say the talent we've been bringing in via transfer greatly outweighs the talent we've lost.

White chose to not play his last year.
Incorrect about White.
He unfortunately tore his Achilles tendon at Niagara and is done this year. I am not sure if he can petition the NCAA for a sixth year?

I should have been more specific. He chose not to play his last year at La Salle (he could have stayed on for a 5th but didn't).
He did go to Niagara. I didn't know about his achilles though, that's a shame. I'm not sure of what the rules are for a sixth year of eligibility.

Wow, I didn't realize Devon tore his Achilles. That is a real shame. Tough injury to come back from.

JB, it is my understanding that White will try to play this season. They believe he may be ready to go by January, but I'll believe it when I see it. That is a brutal injury to recover from. I believe he tore it sometime in June just prior to him enrolling there.
