I don't want to make this a thread about how bad the refs were on Sunday (they were) but I found something curious. It has been mentioned a lot in the past about how G does or doesn't "work" the refs. Sunday Jay Wright spent the entire game hollering, chirping and doing everything to get into their ears. It was funny because he was the exact opposite of G who spent his time hollering, chirping and doing everything to get into his players collective head. Late in regulation, G is annoyed and gets on the refs (John Gaffney made the call in question). Joe Lindsay was the closest to La Salle's bench so he had the honors of talking with G. Lindsay evidently didn't like what G had to say and gets in his face. Then he walked away but you could tell from his facial expression he wasn't pleased. This is not the first time I have seen this nor the second time. Last year at Delaware, Lindsay went nuts at G over his complaints (nearly giving him a technical). There was another time this happened but I don't remember which game it was. G doesn't give refs a hard time but something he says ruffles Mr. Lindsay.
My take is Mr. Lindsay has a short fuse and a bit of a hot head. Maybe we are seeing Jim Burr's replacement.
On the subject of refs, I believe Burr is still working but Timmy Higgins and Bob Donato have retired. If only we could get Frank Scag's to hang up the whistle.

Higgins and Lindsey were among the crews that spent Thanksgiving week in Hawaii at the Maui Invitational, so your info on Higgins is incorrect.

Joe Lindsay is the clown who almost cost La Salle the 90-89 win against St Joe's during Darnell's senior year. He refused to let Rodney take the front end of the one and one which he waved off after Rodney hesitated when some clown Hawk fan blew a whistle. Lindsay called it a violation on Rodney and gave St Joe's a chance to win it on the last play but luckily Tasheed Carr missed a very makeable shot after the homerun pass.
Everybody in the building heard the whistle come from the St Joe's section and you can even hear it on the TV broadcast. Yet Lindsay (and I believe Earl Walton was on that crew) refused to reverse the call.

Well just goes to show you that you can't trust everything you read on the internet or.... maybe Higgins changed his mind after the article. Anyway thanks for pointing out my information was incorrect. Honest mistake I made there. Thanks Kjmac, I thought Lindsay was part of that officiating crew during the first SJU game with the whistle incident. Seems like we have interesting situations whenever he does our games.
