I'm going to be at the game, so I'll throw this up now. Not sure what to expect tonight, but we need a win, no question.

Explorers by 16+ tonight. Book it. Hawks (CT) shoot less than 40% from the field.

In reality I'm just sending positive thoughts into the universe and hoping I'm right. I just can't believe that this team is more likely to play like they did against CCSU than they did against UDel. I might add, that UDel win may prove to be really beneficial as they are now the likely CAA favorite since Drexel lost that kid for the year...which really is a shame and I'm not taking any joy in it. I just have a feeling we are going to see a team that played more like last year tonight. Plus, looking back at the CCSU game, the 2nd half wasn't all that awful defensively

this should be a great bounce back game to rebuild confidence.

La Salle playing well except for the turnovers. They're playing a lot harder tonight.

I wouldn't mind an old fashioned ass whooping tonight. Help to purge the horrible feelings after CCSU

This is exactly the kind of first half we needed after that embarrassment on Sunday.

Not a classic performance from La Salle. A win but this team needs to to step up their play.
Props to Rohan Brown he gave us very good minutes.

Not a particularly inspring performance, especially in the 2nd half. Hartford didn't shoot well. CCSU shot lights out. Is that good defense on our part, or a lousy opponent?

Believe me, I hate Nova just as much as you do, maybe even more. The problem though is that if Nova gets embarassed tonight by Colombia (and it looks like they will), it makes a win on Sunday infinitely more difficult.

I do not care if nova wins by, or loses by a 100. Our goal is to play LASALLE BB and to kick their butt, one way or other. If we r team that I think we r , no reason to lose on Sun. Tough game-yes. Down to last 2 min- maybe. Win-absolutely.

I also agree, seems like this is the typical script for us. It was very nice to win tonight's game. On the notably + side Rohan's performance was a quasi breakout. Having said this, seems to me we played much more disciplined team basketball last year. I know it is just 3 games in but this has been an inauspicious start from where I sit per the quality of play and execution. Largely the same personnel from last year being asked to do the same stuff. One game they forget how to play D. The next they commit 19 turnovers. I am not encouraged for Sunday against Villanova. We are not very good right now....and if this is what we bring Sunday pray we get lucky.

I do not think Jermaine Davis got in game. Why not? Because he is not ready? Cant get ready if do not play. Why is 10th guy on team imp. to Screamer? Because he may have to be ready to play 10 min. in a game that we have to win to go to NCAA. It is almost impossible to have a special season with 1 C and 1 PF. I know Rohan had a good game but he is not a PF. Players get hurt and miss games; get sick and miss games;foul trouble and miss major minutes. Davis is not a savior, and if he had to play 25/game, will not win anyway-but depth is crucial. When Bob Lanier got hurt in NCAA in 1971(?), , Bonnies had to go to Matt Gantt, a 6'5" forward to play center, he was a good player but lack of depth put them in impossible position. When Truck ruled ineligible, no depth. I am hoping that C is trying to get him ready and this is not a R-S issue. This is why Screamedr does not sleep. Maybe if Hunt could play....

Screamer, G has addressed Davis on his podcast ( they are archived). He really likes Davis but he has two issues. One is conditioning (more needing to lose baby fat and replace it with muscle...remember Zack last year) and the other is that he has not grasped what he needs to do on the court. G hopes that he can redshirt the young man but if Zack or Wright get hurt then he'll play. G is looking long term for the kid. Big guys need a lot more time to develope. You were at La Salle when Tom Piotrowski was there. He rode the bench for two years and started to develope his JR year and ultimately got drafted by Jack Ramsey.
I also hate to bring this thought to the table but what if Brimah doesn't commit. We could use a big guy and we have one working on developing his body and game in Davis.
Finally Screamer, with Nova next up, maybe in another thread you can tell us your best "Screamer moments with Rollie". Do you think Rollie still has nightmares thinking about you?

If we are an NCAA tournament caliber team like many on this board believe we are, then we need to win the difficult games..whether they are rebound games or not. The "rebound game" is total BS anyhow. Just go other there and beat your opponent, regardless of who the just played.

Re Sweat83: Exactly what I have said or have been trying to say. If a team is very good, it just haa to win and esxcuses should not be proffered or tolerated. I still love my team if it loses, but I hate excuses.

I still love my team if it loses, but I hate excuses. I don't think anyone here is offering excuses or trying to set up a reason in case they do lose. When a decent team loses to a horrible team like Columbia, they're usually going to come out fired up and more focused in their next game. It will make a La Salle more difficult. Not impossible, just more difficult.

Whether its more difficult or not we should and we must win the game. Its a home game against a team that is not as good as us. Even though Nova might be a little down, its still a credibility game.If this season was about going 15-14 and self-congradulating for a winning season, losing this game might not be a big deal, although a bigger deal bec. we lost to CCSU. In any event, this is about having a statement year, going to NCAA and solidifying the recruiting base and encouraging admin. that this program is worthy of more support. Its also about carrying the banner of the A-10; we must beat an average Big East team at home, Especially seeing that an IVY beat nova AT nova. I expect cats to play hard. I expect us to win.
