We better win every game every year. Every game we lose is our fault, its never because the other team played a great game or because bad games simply happen. There is blame to be assigned and we will do it.

Putting aside the emotional/logical reaction to this loss, it is a valid point that we lack good/any bench coaching.
For the record, I am still sick over this loss ... not because we lost to perhaps a team that was just better than us yesterday, but what the loss MEANS ... to March, to all of those who are sick of hearing "this is the year" from people like us, to the kids who were pumped up for a new season, etc.). Regardless of how/why we lost, it just looks AWFUL!! Perception is everything.

Except that's not true. Since the beginning of last year, for every "typical G coaching game" we've had three "the old La Salle would have lost that game". Its just that good things are only single steps up a staircase while bad things are falling back down to the bottom.

Slightly different points...I am a huge supporter of the team and Coach, but I am not so quick to attribute all of those wins last year to his coaching (Xs and Os that is)...I think he is strong in 2 of 3 areas...(1) recruiting and (2) getting a good team together with good guys...it was his 'coaching' that realized that Murray was a horrendous cancer to the other guys/team and his recruiting has gotten us a lot of talent. He needs help in the third area - game time coaching. That's all I meant. Take a look at that bench and be honest...

Chaminade is beating Texas by 17 - clearly Texas should also end their season

I have always been a supporter of G and respect what he has done for the program but I think he needs to acknowledge his own weaknesses and get some help. I don't think he should be fired but I think it's clear that he needs some help. Coach Adler's post game comments simply confirm this. Apparently there was no one on the bench who could make the necessary adjustments. I find this difficult to accept at a Division 1 program. This is not a rant but more of a plea for G to get some help. I don't want anyone to lose their job, just find some retired coach to help him where he needs it. As to our reaction to this loss, I don't find it inappropriate. It is this type of loss that keeps us on page 6 of the sports pages and off TV. There is no excuse for this loss and the explanation offered by Coach Adler just adds to my concerns. My sent images exactly. We all admire Dr. g for his many talents including his energy and recruiting prowess. He obviously can develop players, look at how some have grown under his coaching. I want him to succeed and hope he does. He is a class act and represents the Universtity well

I would like to request that the admin LOCK the game threads the morning after each game.

Some look at coachd questions and ask why, others dream of coachd questions that never were and ask why not?

The last couple of pages of posts are not directly related to the game.

Looking a tthe box score late last night, one thing that jumped out at me was that CCSU had two guys miss a combined TWO shots on the night....and one guy was 5/6 from beyond the arc. I mean, that's really unusual. I'm not making excuses but it really drives home the point for me that CCSU played almost a perfect game and LS played pretty much the exact opposite. I will wager that if we played CCSU again we would likely not see those 2 guys shoot 88% from the field and we would probably win.

The other contrast was the free throw shooting. CCSU was 100% until they missed two when the game was in hand.

Yes they had nearly flawless games, but the flip side of that argument is how come we didn't play tighter defense and make in-game adjustments on these guys? Regardless, it's a bad loss and it's time to move onto tonight's game. Hopefully we come out on fire and torch Hartford.
