it goes back to the "perception on TV" argument but I didn't want to post this on the basketball board since it is off topic.

Guys, it's "Always Sunny." The characters on the show are portrayed as the stupidest, most shallow, egotistical people in the world. I wouldn't get too bent out of shape over it.

“La Salle? Sounds like a pasta dish.”

I thought it was funny. No need to overreact all it's going to do is give every Big 5 team their first rollout

I can't wait to check this out On Demand. Like the show a lot but don't get to watch it all that often. I think it's hilarious that they got a La Salle jab in there.
I think Charlie Day is one of the funniest guys on TV. He must be pretty smart too. He was actually able to get paid to appear in the movie "Horrible Bosses" and get sexually "harassed" by Jennifer Aniston throughout the movie. He should have paid the producers for giving him that role.

If anything, it doe spoint that we are still relevant otherwise the jab doesn't make any sense.

Spoilers be darned, it has been over two weeks now so anyone who DVR'd it should have already seen it. It is the 11/8 airing on comcast on demand (categorized under "A for Always" not "I for It's"!), and it is also available as season 8 episode 5, on amazon digital and itunes for $1.99-$2.99. Here is the scene:
"Now let me stop you right there, doc. I can help you. You see I have a background in academic psych, myself, from an ivy league college, no less. Not this La Salle." "It sounds like a pasta dish." "It does, it does Frank. But let's not be mean. Some people don't have the same access as we do."
Character pointed to a wall containing seven different diplomas printed on 8.5x11 paper. Obviously the doctor has been racking up various degrees. However, the names on them are not literally La Salle. You can barely read them even in the HD version. Three of them appear to say Lasale (sic), and two of them say Vanderfield University (sic). A sixth one says "The State of Pennsylvania School." The 7th one is indistinguishable. I found it funny that the props somewhat go along with the script but at the same time they all contain wordplay and are on 8.5x11 paper. Perhaps they are not allowed to depict an actual diploma copy, or maybe it is only a speed job because they thought no one would care or notice, or it was presented for comic effect.
