Sounds vaguely socialist to me. Redistribution of the wealth and all. State (school) owning the means of production. Limiting entrepreneurship, etc. Not really. Kids are getting a free education which is socialist. I didn't say they couldn't earn any money... but they owe something to school. I am going to stop because I don’t argue with leftists and RINOs

Wage caps on college kids isn’t where I’d personally start, but I’m really glad to see you coming around on salary equity and ensuring everyone (in your example bench players & athletes in other sports) receives fair compensation. Sometimes it takes a long time to get on the same page but we’re closer than ever.

Sometimes it takes a long time to get on the same page but we’re closer than ever. This is going to be an issue where we’ll never be able to agree on what’s fair. There’s so many levels to this and while I’m still not an advocate for paying students, you can’t make an argument that everyone should be paid equally. Note: I believe anybody who believes student athletes shouldn’t be paid are either purists or supporters of exploitation. I’m partly a purist but recognize that is not the reality we live in. Back to Nickelberry and the twins… Good for them on getting paid. Nickelberry will get to compete against the best in the ACC in an environment that’s significantly warmer than Philly right now and the twins have the chance to make some decent money while getting an education. All 3 are still under compensated if you ask me though.

The median salary in Mali is less than $10K a year. This is life changing money for them and be8ng on student visas, they can't just get a job here. I dont fault them for taking it and doing grad school. I hate the in-conference transfers but it is reality right now. They're playing by the new rules. Regarding St Peter's, remember their coach left for Seton Hall after their NCAA run, so we can't really fault their players for cashing in while their stock was high rather than wait to find out who their new coach was going to be. Doug Edert cashed in on that run in a big way. Now he averages like 5 points and is the 8th man at Bryant. He was smart to have sold high. Hope he didn't spend it all in one place!
