Double-double for Croswell. Almost a triple-double if you count turnovers.

happy we are hitting Free Throws at a better clip I spoke too soon. Good in the first half but not so much in the 2nd.

51% from the field and 46% from 3s vs. 43 and 20 for the Racers.
One thing to be concerned about, we got out-scored 38-14 in the paint.

I had us 0-4 to start the season and 14-10 going forward. 2-2 start puts an over .500 season in play. We aren't going to be perfect, but I am excited about the direction.

Yea, no idea what Croswell is doing out there. Guys, he’s 5-6 with ten rebounds. Just meant in the final 4 minutes. Turnovered the ball 3 times and took a bad foul. 80% of that game he played very solid. A number of times one of our guards drive to the basket to pass it up and he wouldn't be ready. That'll be fixed when they develop some chemistry.

Most impressive stat: 7 players scored better than one point per shot.

La Salle goes to 2-0 all time against Murray State. The last time, in 1952 we went on to win an NIT championship that season, so there's that!

Really nice win. Was concerned about their size advantage coming in. While they outscored is in the paint we hit threes and they could not contain us at the arc. Really happy about this win where 10 players contributed.

Congrats to Ash and the team. A step was taken tonight. That is all I need to see and what I was taking about last week. Now we need to string some games together and take another one step.

Just sayin', Billy Lange would have won by 12.

That line of thinking should be memorialized forever as the most short-sighted thing ever said here.

You know you've arrived as a college basketball program when you beat..............Murray State. (Groan!)
Makes me think of the old Murray's Delicatessen that used to be in Jenkintown. Either he started a college or the former deli workers are playing Division 1 basketball.

It’s neither of those. Murray State has been to the tourney seven (7) times since the turn of the century. Some real bad research today.

Are you saying #of NCAA appearances determines the quality of the opponent? St. Joe's has been there 6 times since the turn of the century in a tougher conference with more players playing in the NBA during that time frame than Murray State. By your argument, Murray State is a higher quality opponent. Looking forward to ESPN comparing Explorers knocking off the Racers to Evansville over Kentucky.

For those of us born in the middle of the last century, it is scary to realize it is almost 20 years since the turn of the century. If that makes no sense, please ignore.

So clarify it for me. Are you saying an A10 school should be excited about beating a Murray State because they're in a weaker conference but have been to the tourney 7 times?

I am not sure our scoring in the paint is that relevant when you are hitting your outside shots the way we were. To your point our interior D might need attention though. Sure hoping we can shoot with greater consistency going forward. Last night was encouraging.

Yes, that's what I was saying. If you're planning on spending your time as a La Salle fan only getting excited when we win against a major conference, you're going to be unhappy a lot more often than not. Murray State is a good program, last night was a good win.

I shelled out the $12.50 last night to watch the game (plus next 2). This morning woke up and had a charge for $150 for an annual subscription. Hopefully it's not a bait and switch and I can cancel out, but I digress. Watching the game, I was of course impressed with our 3pt shooting. Especially Kenney since game before I criticized for taking too many shots. Ash has clearly brought in talent. Multiple players on this team can score and hit big shots.
At the end of the game, the announcer on the telecast asked the color guy, who his player of the game was for La Salle. He went with Kenney because of the 3 ball, which seemed like the obvious answer. Thinking about the question I immediately thought of Ed Croswell and Ayinde. Maybe not being the player of the game. But in my mind they had the two biggest plays.
Toward end of game. La Salle turned the ball over and Murray st was on a fast break with a chance to cut the game to 7pts. Ed croswell had a heads up steal when he knocked the ball out of the guards hand, driving to the basket. Ed also had a key basket down low when we couldn't score and the game was getting close.
For Ayinde he hit two big foul shots to seal the game. And a BIG TIME rebound on the defensive end over Murray st BIGS to stop a second chance scoring play, again when game was getting close. For any one who didn't watch, this may seem a bit irrelevant to us winning. but those four plays led us to their victory and will help continue to make this program a winning one.

I'm excited because they beat a team they weren't expected to beat. Kenpom has them ranked significantly higher than us as do most write-ups I've read. Add to that the fact that La Salle beat them by 11 when Vegas had us losing by 6 1/2 and I'm more than satisfied with this win. Wright State won't be an easy game either.

Yes, that's what I was saying. If you're planning on spending your time as a La Salle fan only getting excited when we win against a major conference, you're going to be unhappy a lot more often than not. Murray State is a good program, last night was a good win. I EXPECT us to win against the Murray States and Wright States of the world (and the Drexels and Bucknells). And I get that for years we lost those games we SHOULD have won, but we shouldn't be acting like a victory over Murray State is a something to be overly joyous about...it's what should be the norm. I'm happy for the win, but it's also OK to take it for what it is and expect more from an A-10 team.
