Do folks think the Sixers are better now?
Simmons Richardson Harris Horford Embiid

About the same, which is still pretty good. I can't comprehend Butler's thinking though. I'm surprised Redick only got $13M per year.

I am surprised Redick got 13M actually. He can't guard anyone now (not that he could before) and his shooting was inconsistent last year. He is getting old.
I actually liked what they did but worry how Horford and Embid can co-exist offensively. I am fine with sign and trade and not taking Butler on for 4-5 years given his history and he will be old very soon. Don't understand giving $180M to Harris though.
Need shooters and a back-up point guard still.

If they didn’t give it to Harris the Knicks or Clippers would have

I think they get significantly better. Richardson will be smallest starter at 6'6. Good defender. Can score. And horford will be a good mentor for Embiid. Redick for age 35/36 season at 13 mil each is way too high. He would have been a good 6/7 man at 7/8 mil a year for 2 years. I understand why he got paid. I really like the versatility just need a back up PG who can score a bit, a shooting wing, and hopefully have Boban back.

I think that when Brand and Brown are thinking that Horford will be the Tim Duncan type. Wishful thinking or a good strategy?

Given that Duncan didn’t blossom until age 33 I think that’s a great comp.

I watched most of the 76ers Celtics preseason game yesterday. Dozed off a couple times. Rooting for the 76ers of course. Seemed like the same old same old. A celtic's team that schools the 76er's on execution. A team offense that passes and finds an open man to score. And team D that swarms and chokes the opposition forcing TO's.

That is because Shake Milton stinks. He is the worst point guard. Why they gave him 4 years is beyond me
Thybulle, Smith, and Shayock looked fine. Shame Norvile Pelle has no offensive game. He would be a nice back-up big if he did. The rest of the team is pretty bad.

You got a ton of vitriol for a guy that was a top player in the D League and has played 268 total nba minutes.
I don’t like how he’s played in the summer league, but he’s no schlub either.

Until he shows me at the NBA level he can play I don't like his game as a Sixers fan. He may get his chance to prove me wrong this year but from what I have seen thus far, I am not impressed. I see nothing he does well.

In general I like what the Sixers have done but I do wonder exactly what they expect out of Horford. Seems like he is expected to be a starter and still be on the floor to fill in for Embiid both when he is taken out for substitution and when he is sitting out entirely for load management. A lot to expect from an older player!
