I was unable to attend this year unfortunately but golf outing is today. Typically it’s a great opportunity to get some news regarding schedule, recruiting and facilities. Curious if anyone was able to attend and share anything of note.

I saw there was an alumni game today as well, which I thought was cool.

Biggest news to me is that Jack Clark suffered a recurring knee injury. Had surgery performed by Sixers Orthopod who thinks a full recovery will happen. Bad news is he is out for another year.

Diehard did a great job identifying people in the photo. Christian Ray is not yet in school. Stone and Hikim were finished at their prep schools and able to enroll in time for the first summer session. The guy in the photo that is second from the right is Steve Weingarten ( he was also at the FOBR dinner last night).

Any idea the guy to his left?

Some sched updates:
@ Drexel vs Buckenll (Palestra) vs Morgan State
Mid-Major holiday tournament in Florida
There were a few other low major teams mentioned for home games.

Thats terrible for Jack Clark. Wish him a speedy recovery. Hopefully coming back against Villanova because we were shorthanded played no role.

Yeah, that sucks on so many levels. No serious injuries are good, but he's already dealt with enough and god dammit he's going to be so good if he gets healthy.

McCormack family donated $100,000 to fund a D1 strength coach for men’s and women’s BB only. Colleen matched it with University funds. This is showing strong commitment to the program and in my opinion looking at the team, you can visually see the increase in shoulder and chest dimensions of the players. Our team never improved physically over their careers as did our competition, results showed this to be true for too many years.

I like the Bucknell games. Playing a well coached perennial tourney contender is good for us and a W against tourney qualifiers helps at bubble time. If we are to contend for a tourney berth we have to win these games and should keep them on our schedule to help sos.
The mid major tourney features Murray State and 6 other teams of good quality. Hope we can get to the finals and or win it (especially with Morant gone).

What are the dates and location for that Florida tournament? No exact dates, but was said to be "Pre-Thanksgiving." Ash called it a mid-majors tournament and said it was in/near Fort Myers, FL. After a little bit of searching I found a half-updated website (has lots of last year's tournament info) for something called the Gulf Coast Showcase (see link below), presumably to be held at the Hertz Arena in Estero, FL (near Fort Myers) where it was held last year. It lists six of the teams committed to play in the 2019 tournament, with two yet to be announced. I am presuming we are one of the two, if I found the right site. Check back periodically for updated information in the weeks ahead. Gulf Coast Showcase
Teams listed as committed for the 2019 tournament: - Drake, Miami of Ohio, Northeastern, South Alabama, Weber State and Wright State
