I thought the Bucknell game was the start of something good heading towards conference play... was never able to top it. bucknell thumped us (92-79 and it wasn't anywhere near that close). not sure what game you were remembering. towson maybe? Villanova?

Just a quick reminder : Although it's getting very tiring and requires substantial continuing effort, I still feel compelled to "like" every post by Gnocchi and durenduren regardless of content due to the tremendously high quality of their avatars. I once thought nothing could hold a candle to the birdhouse, and then within 24 hours of the Rhode Island game, the animated avatar of duren appeared. Seeing that happen live and then being reminded of it with every post puts a smile on my face. I truly feel sorry for those form whom those image will have no significance in a few years. On those rare occasions when one quotes the other, or you see their posts under each other on the screen at the same time, it is truly a momentous comedic happening.

My goodness, who cares what the optics are? After a certain time he will be judged on the results Recruits care about these optics...as do their parents who send them to play for him. What is the "certain time"? 2 years, 3, 4 ? They weren’t his recruits - and he was being honest with them, which a recruit would appreciate. Players are smart, they see the writing on the wall.

That is a load of bull. I can see if Ash was running off players he recruited. These are not his players. If you worry about that you are a dead man walking. You have to do what you think is needed to succeed. If I were recruiting against him, I would say to a parent, "Are you sure you want to go play for him? He doesn't seem to retain players, and if he leaves, it appears the school just encourages the kids to leave if they replace the coach. Don't you want your child to come play for me and our University and know he will graduate?" Whether true or not, a coach from another school could say that, and there's no way to refute it right now. Two of the transfers got their undergrad degree - one of them in three years. Many athletes transfer for their grad degree. The third was third on the depth chart, and with Stone coming in, he would probably go to 4th next year. I am not sure what’s hard about that.

Some people just can’t relate to D1 sports because they have never played... So they just project what they think how athletes think..

And it’s a different world with the transfer portal and the lax rulings on one year sit out waivers. U mass is losing its star, a starter who transferred and sat a year, played a year and is leaving, a starter from last year , two other players and a bunch of asst coaches. Welcome to D1 moneyball free agency.
In contrast we are losing is slight in comparison.

I'd create a fake twitter post where he talks shit on each one but I don't trust half this board and all of St. Joseph's of PA not to run with it. Thank god I'm on the right half...I think.

If you're implying Soros paid them to delete their accounts ... I'm right with you. No other logical explanation.

Exploring15 and Calsufan : The ( unfounded ) fear that Miles Brookins was transferring eleven months ago ( on May 2, 2018 ) had both of you in need of a cardiologist. How are your tickers holding up now that your fears have come true ?

It gets better when you consider that G signed these three relatively early and then had to prep Osun because he was out of 'ships.
He should had a 'ships du jour policy.

He'll get to practice against Lamine Diane everyday which should help him out. Also Metta World Peace's son Ron Artest III is on the squad which is cool.

If you close off the letter "C" in the photo, you get a little bit of irony there....

That just gave me agida.... That class was a total zero. Wish there was a "dislike" bottom. Thanks Jamir and Miles for your contributions to the team the last two years. I am sorry it did not work out for both of you. I heard nothing but good things about both of you while you were here. I wish you nothing but the best in the future.

To be fair to lunatic, I don't think he meant it the way you interpreted. I think what he was trying to say is that the 3 recruits didn't pan out to be a solid foundation to help the long term rebuild of the program. From that standpoint I have to agree with him. It's not a knock against them at all. For one reason or another, whether it be lack of coaching, talent level, minutes squeeze or what they just didn't work out. I do 100% agree with your second paragraph. They seemed like solid citizens and I wish them great success at their next school.

I understand what he was trying to say thank you. I wish he would have explained his position a little more and come off less harsh to a couple of players who wore the La Salle uniform.

It was not intended to be a personal knock at all.... Only a look back at why we are where we are, from a roster standpoint only.
Everybody wants to attack Embiid and Simmons when talking about the Sixers second round exit for the second consecutive year. They are flawed, and do deserve alot of blame, but the issue with the Sixers is depth. To go deeper, they whiffed on too many draft picks not named Ben and Joel. TLC, Fultz, Jah, Zhaire Smith.... Total zeroes. I still don't know why they traded Bridges for Smith on draft night. At least they could've gotten something out of Bridges.
Anyway, to land this plane, too many misses zap your depth in a league with a salary cap. Drawing the parallel, we don't have a salary cap at La Salle, but we have scholarship limits. Too many recruiting "misses" zap a program. I say misses as contributing basketball players, not as kids, students, teammates, etc.... And I realize we had a coaching change so that also clouds the waters.
I think Miles could've been a player here. I didn't think Jamir's jumper was consistent enough for him to have a big role as a shooter. Who the hell knows about Joseph, the kid played walk-on type minutes. That's what I met by calling the class a zero.
I'm sorry if it came across as any other way.
