PREDICTIONS:
1) Someone in the Notre Dame coaching tree. I have zero idea who Brey's best assistants are.
2) Ryan Odom from UMBC. (They had another 20-win season.)
3) John Becker from Vermont. (The Cats are sort of this weird behemoth.)

If Shaka gets let go from Texas, is this a possible landing spot?!?! I think he survives one more season. Something like an 18mil buyout, combined with the risk of losing this class, might buy him time:

Since Martelli started at Overbrook in 1995 at the same time the Explorers joined the A-10, might he now jinx them into getting booted?

Phil is the only SJU (PA) coach I can think of who wasn't an alum, and he was an assistant there for a decade.
They tend to keep things in the family, but we'll see...
I'm sure it's John Gallagher's dream job, but he hasn't done much winning at Hartford. I'd imagine they talk to him and Bruiser.
Really curious to see which direction they go

Their board is definitely pushing Nelson.
(And there's a thread there that's Steve-level ridiculous, enough that now I'm working through some conspiracy theories in my head.)

Really curious to see which direction they go if john gallagher gets hired, the st joe's (pa) fan base would do mass suicide off the city line ave bridge. if they interview him, it will be a courtesy only. i won't be surprised if their new ad looks at some notre dame people. i agree with 1801 on martin inglesby. he may not get the job but i can see him being on the short list. maybe even current nd assistant ryan ayers gets a look. he played his hs ball at germantown academy.

I've never heard of Ayers, but reading his profile he seems like the exact type of guy I hope they don't go for.

Sincere thanks to everyone who's keeping the (of PA) shtick alive today. It would be easy to drop it on a day where there's so much news related to them. But it's days like this where it's most important to specify. If you were a student at St. Joseph's in Indiana and happened across our board today, you'd be alarmed that your school had fired their basketball coach, but for the precautions of the members of this board.

If they hire Jameer we can vicariously see what a Legler hire would have brought us. (May the better man win that argument). Jameer's pro career pretty much is done.
I can see a Jameer hire before an Ayres hire - though I think he will be a contender.
I would interview Luke Murray (X and URI) who has worked under some good coaches.
Someone inevitably will be fired soon who could fit the bill, also. Like last year for us, timing is key. Probably could pick up an experienced coach (not necessarily Dunph, but someone like him) to assist or help school Jameer on the art of coaching for a year or two.
They could bring in an old hound from the farm team too -- www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/story/_/id/25229551/jim-calhoun-fiery-ever-coaching-division-iii-st-joseph-debut-win

Jameer is less qualified than the wildly unqualified Legler. I'd be surprised if they even interviewed him, because he isn't deserving.

I think Nelson would have a better chance if Martelli went out on his own terms. Also think the new administration there wants a clean break from the past.

(I feel like I need to reiterate my caveat that I have nothing against Legler at all and would react this way to literally every single La Salle basketball alum without college or pro coaching experience.)

(I feel like I need to reiterate my caveat that I have nothing against Legler at all and would react this way to literally every single La Salle basketball alum without college or pro coaching experience.) I agree heartily agree that Ash was my choice over Legs. I like Legs' xmsirius work. He is an interesting guy. Now back to your statement. If you would never hire a La Salle alum without college or pro coaching experience you would have not hired Tom Gola in 1968. (I know he would have been your exception.)

In all seriousness...I wonder if this affects Charlie Brown's decision to stay or go. He's gone either way, I think. Time to start making money. Current draft rankings for Brown - The Athletic - Sam Vecenie has Brown going 51st to the Celts ESPN - does not have Brown getting drafted SI - lists their top 80 prospects and Brown isn't listed CBS - only has a 1st round mock NBAdraft.net - Brown is not listed in the top 2 rounds and not listed in their top 100 NBAdraftroom.com - Brown is not listed in their top 75 My point is, if he's leaving to make money, I'm guessing it is overseas.
