Nice win. Would like to finish 2-1 or better the next week and a half. A win at Dayton would be a big confidence booster. But regardless, we're pretty much stuck in the 6-9 slot for the A10 tournament. Doesn't really matter in this league. Any team on any night philosophy. Just need to continue to out hustle the competition and work hard. 9-9 conference record would be way better than what any of us predicted (except for dolph, who I think had us going 17-1)

Probably one of the top 5 "GUTS" games I've seen in all my years watching La Salle. These players gave everything they had under extreme conditions. We played 8 but the vast majority were by 7. Playing a team that will force you to scramble on defense, we managed to win easily with basically two bigs as our substitutes. I don't want to put down Mosely but he only played 8 minutes. Clark out. Moultrie out. Pookie out. Beatty nursing an injury. Saul coming out of the locker room after getting some treatment ( he was still noticably limping). Kimbrough playing through his nagging injury. Croswell and Brookins playing on fumes. Yet they all hustled their fannies off. Awesome to see guys diving on the floor and out-hustling Davidson for 50-50 balls. Kudos to Ashley and the staff for mixing and matching guys all night. Congrats to Traci and Shaggy for career highs in points but that's only half the story. Their all around games was outstanding with rebounds, assists, steals, a block by Deas and terrific defense. Down the stretch Deas guarded JAG to stop him getting to the lane where he creates havoc. Carter was just a pest all night. Saul, David, Jared and Miles and Ed had equally good all around games. I wanted to see what Davidson fans had to say about the game and they are almost as funny as the SJU(PA) fans on their board. They are down on this team to a degree. They aren't happy with the HC rotations in particular taking out guys who were hot. Sort of the Dean Smith/Michael Jordan deal. What was really funny was it was obvious they were getting a beat down and had nothing positive to say so they turned their attention to Kale and Richie P. They were trashing them royally. They didn't like the "POW." Well I guess it does become annoying when you hear it 13 times! They even ripped the PA announcer for the Bricklayer's commercial. One person thought it violated the A10 Code of Conduct. You know you are bored when you have to vent about the PA announcer reading a commercial. My last comment on their fans are they spent a fair amount of time reading the advertising signs. They want to know about Paddy Whack's and the Green Parrot. Advertising works. Kudos to the small but vocal fans at the game. Screamer II was into it. So were the 71ers and the 51ers, 61ers, 81ers and maybe a 91ers or two. I will not mention the referees to protect their family names but I was glad that the old geezers didn't throw their walkers, canes, glasses and hearing aids at those gentlemen. The small crowd was loud and I think the team got some energy from it. Shame we had so little support from the student body but a thank you to those who did attend. Final point, the folks at the A10 headquarters can't be very happy today. A La Salle beat down ( we lead 94.5% of the game) over the #2 team in the league is not sitting well. I wouldn't be surprised if they were having talks to kick us out of the league this morning . Great night. Ash now has to make sure of no letdown for Saturday. Hopefully we can get a little healthier. Thank you all. Great recap. I would only add that both Brandon Stone and Christian Ray were at the game last night. Good game for them to see!

I'm gonna assume the posters on here insinuating we play better with out pookie in the lineup, have to be the same ones that rip Deas for shooting and dribble too much. Or criticizing Carter for being overrated and a waste of a scholarship. Right? Because when we win, every one is great! And if we lose we just move the goal post to whatever player we feel like blaming that night. Got it. That'd be a reasonable take if it wasn't stupid. Said it a handful of weeks ago, and I was chastised for insinuating that the team may be better with Pookie off the court. Let me guess, you said that after the St. Louis game when he scored 2 points?? Where was that take after the two times we played Richmond, the game against St. Joes, how about when he scored 25pts against Duquesne (10-18 shooting) and hitting the game winning bucket? Oh that's right, it didn't fit your narrative so you couldn't say it then. Saul, Carter and Deas all had phenomenal games, especially shooting the rock. There's no denying that. But to think they shot the ball better because Pookie was out, is asinine. The next game they could be just as cold, with him not there.

These refs were actively letting DC crawl back into a game they had no business being in. The bald ref was definitely affected by the abuse - you could see he was steamed and embarrassed at the same time and he was sweating way more heavily than normal - he's done a few games this year. That is what a vocal crowd can do. Keep it up 51ers-81ers! The students will hop on the bandwagon eventually.

Could we just have 24 hours on here without arguing where we enjoy a great win against the team that knocked us out of the A10 tournament 3 years in a row?

It was about a discussion regarding our ability to stomach losing him next year. I'm not fitting anything to my narrative. I think his possessions may limit other aspects of the roster. I want the other guys to have more possessions, despite Pookie's talent. I dont intend to diminish Pookie's success with this, but I dont see his graduation impacting negatively as much as I initially thought. While talented as hell, he has the ball so much. I'm hoping it'll allow other guys to grow more.
