That shot gave me flashbacks to Terry Dehere circa 1992...although his was from the other side of the court and a clean swish. There's a throwback. Last time I heard that name I think was playing NBA Courtside on N64. Unfortunately burned into my brain from the NCAA Tournament that year as I watched out upset bid come to an end.

they have zero chance of beating Milwaukee this year. Milwaukee is a better matchup for them than Toronto, IMO. BREAKING NEWS : Hell freezes over. Video at eleven.

Jay Wright would be a perfect fit there or with the Knicks or both.

linkMarcus Hayes called for canning Brett Brown yesterday. There was a report last week that the Knicks wanted to talk to Brand about their GM job. The Knicks can have Brown and Brand....

They should just blow the team up. They've squandered their cache of first rounders and put together a bunch of mismatched pieces. Okafor (anyone could see he was not a pro player back in college), Noels (stringbean defender, zero offense), Fultz (immature and not ready for the pros, not to mention the Celtics hoodwinked the Sixers), Embiid (great talent, but extremely immature & continuously out of shape) and Simmons (great talent, but no jump shot / afraid to shoot). Add to that they went out and signed an aging Al Hoford who's knees are nearly shot to a huge boat anchor of a contract. Plus they have a newbie GM who's inexperienced; preceded by a chucklehead of a GM (Colangelo) and a coach who is afraid to instill discipline in the team. Add all of that up and this is the train wreck that are called the Philadelphia 76'ers. What an unmitigated disaster this team is.

Build around Ben. Keep Thybulle, Milton and Korkmaz. Have to keep Horford because of contract. Trade Joel to the Heat for Herro, Bam and a pick. Trade Tobias for anything you can get. Bring in a coach that wants to run. Draft shooters.

The root of the problem with this club is their management. High draft picks have been squandered. Players have been coddled. The individual talent on this team has been worth more than the sum of its parts -- for years.
But as for the coach? Gone. When you can't get your point guard to attempt a three point shot? Gone.

I think you're going to be relieved to hear that Simmons has attempted not one, but six (6!) threes in just 54 games this season.
But they should still hire Jay Wright.

I agree on Wright but I think that ship has sailed. It would take making him the highest paid nba coach by probably double and I just don’t see Josh Harris doing that.

Maybe this season getting cancelled will change Wright's vantage point.

I would trade Ben Simmons ( for multiple players / draft choices ) instead and keep Embiid and Tobias Harris, being coached by a new coach other than Brett Brown .

Brown is likely to go but I don't blame him unless he had substantial influence in building the roster. Teams that win in the NBA tend to be built around athletic wings who can shoot the 3 and players who can run the floor. I would trade Embid and keep Simmons. He can run the floor and defend. Should be able to get some value for Embid. Team really needs to add some players. Lack of depth really hurt them this season. I think sixers will take a run at Wright but I think he looks at that roster and says no thanks.

I think sixers will take a run at Wright but I think he looks at that roster and says no thanks. Brown deserves a lot of blame. Not all of it but his coaching is atrocious. His substitutions are bad and he runs a crap system with players that can't play the way he wants. If he doesn't hold players accountable like what has been rumored all of these things he should take the blame for. He was running the draft when they traded Bridges for Zhaire Smith. Horrible move. Bridges could help this team. Harris and Brand are also at fault. Harris tries to be buddies with his star players which does not help this situation. Brand traded for Butler and Harris. He gives Harris a max contract which is a mistake but was backed into a corner when Butler doesn't sign with the team. He makes the situation worse by giving $110 million to Al Horford that doesn't fit and overpays him to boot. Add to all of this they have no back-up point guard worth anything on the roster. Team is bad from the owner on down and for many reasons but Brown deserves his share of the blame. I just wish the owner would sell the team and we could hire a good basketball mind to run the operations.

Young Colangelo got the ball rolling downhill by getting fleeced by the Celts in the Markell Fultz deal....but this move was long overdue...

This whole fiasco is such an example of why culture matters at organizations.
There has been no accountability at all since the first day Hinkie was hired. Can you imagine if Embiid "grew up" with at least one or two very professional vets who could show him what it means to rehab, how to take care of your body, how not to stay up until 9 AM playing FIFA and how to show up on time to meet with trainers, etc.
This whole thing has been such a waste of time and effort.
