I said earlier in the fall every time Ash tweets Great Day to be an Explorer he has a commitment.
Ash saw this kid play while watching Christian Ray last weekend. This recruitment seems like a whirlwind.

Doesn't this now put us at 14 for next year...1 over the limit?

Yeah...this signing seems to confirm that it is a definite. Today is, I think, the last official day of the fall semester, so maybe someone is done as of today.

When a recruit enrolls we can’t be over 13 scholarships.

Right...just wondering how this fits with the Green thing as well.

Green and Chris Arch? That would mean 3 guys are leaving.
I can only think of 1 leaving as of right now.

staff wanted a point guard in this class. after coming in second on jahmir young, they rebounded nicely and got a quality commitment in hikim. he's been tearing it up at mt zion against some stiff competition.
i'd be shocked if green or chris arch are still in the picture (don't think green ever was). if a fourth scholarship opens up, hopefully there's a rim protector out there.

He is excelling against the best competition. Hits the game winner against #1 Brewster Academy.
Players that make great plays in critical spots are worth their weight in gold. La Salle hasn’t had enough of those players for a Long time. Galloway lifted a program. Need to find those type of players. I hope he has the “it” factor.

I know this is the reality of college basketball today, but it sucks that basically we now know someone definitely won't be here next year and all we can do is speculate about who. Until it's announced, we'll be over-analyzing every roster rotation, minutes played, etc trying to figure it out.

From Leader Johnson:
Coach Ash Howard has told me they are not recruiting Quade Green but have an eye on another 2019 guard prospect. Not telling that name yet.

So we can stop acting like Quade had any interest in La Salle, right? Thank God, welcome back to reality.

Looks like a very good get. Need a point guard to replace Traci after next year and he looks to be highly skilled. Ash bringing in a nice class. Believe!

I was unfamiliar with Hikim. While looking him up, being as he's from DC, I stumbled across the Georgetown board. While I don't believe the Hoyas were actively recruiting him, some on their board have seen him play live and love him. Actively lobbying for him to get a look from Gtown. Describe him as a pass first pg who can also score when needed. This commitment is Ash shaping the team in his image.

Looks like a good get, but does anyone know if he has a decent outside shot? Does he play D?

"National Prep School Invitational Game 8 #NPSI - Mt. Zion Prep (MD) 72 vs. Link Year Prep (MO) 68 - Player of the Game: Ayinde Hikim (Mt. Zion -27 points)"
"Congratulations to 5’10” 2019 Guard Ayinde Hikim @datsdaman_ for being named Most Outstanding Player of the National Prep School Inv in RI this weekend. @thehoophustle @thegac @mtzionprep"
Looks like this kid had a hell of a couple months.

Today is, I think, the last official day of the fall semester, so maybe someone is done as of today. This the first year for the NCAA transfer portal - players can enter their name and other coaches can contact them. It makes transferring much easier. Ash will have conversations with a few players telling them they will be on the bench if they stay. They will transfer. It wasn’t around last year, so it was harder to get rid of players he doesn’t need.
