Does that mean he has committed to La Salle? If so, that’s a nice get!

Kid played for a terrific high school coach.

Asked a friend who is a local high school coach. He said “I haven’t seen him much to give an opinion, but if he played at Gonzaga, he’s a tough mother.......”

Asked a friend who is a local high school coach. He said “I haven’t seen him much to give an opinion, but if he played at Gonzaga, he’s a tough mother.......” You can see from a lot of the videos that he's not afraid of taking it to the hoop. He doesn't shy away from contact either. He looks like he can handle the ball fairly well with either hand, but he definitely favors going to his right. If you look at his AAU stats that he's posted on his Twitter feed, most games he was the team's leading shooter. The big question is does he have a consistent outside shot? There is some video of him shooting from the outside, but not very much. He looks like more of a slasher.

We need a wing defender. He is a two way player and tough player from the descriptions I have seen. Give me a wing defender and tough and I will take him any day of the week. Offense is nice but we won when we defended.

Having a good slasher opens a lot up, especially with someone like jack clark hitting knockdowns. I feel like that dimension hasn’t been super prominent, but will certainly be nice

Offense is nice but we won when we defended. Coach spoke at our golf outing (Jim Staerk Outing) this past Thursday and mentioned that the defensive intensity in practice has been off the charts. Beatty, Spencer, Saul specifically and the bigs plus the freshmen are getting after. Very competitive practices with guys realizing they either play D or not see the floor.

Gill was a key contributor on teams with Chris Lykes (Miami) and Myles Dread (Penn State), and a few other D1 players; he played in a top HS league and is prepping to only make him more ready to contribute immediately next year. What's not to like regardless of whether he had two stars/top 500 status last year.
Ash is identifying players he can get, will fit his system and improve. I like that approach
I am looking forward to seeing how Ayinde, Kenney, Ray and Stone contribute this year. Stone's defense may be a better offense right now (scoring 3 versus 2) but I hope he can develop into a two way player quickly. The other three frosh look to be solid two way players now.

agreed. I'm interested to see what kind of rotation we'll run and who out of the big men will step up considering we have another big man in Moore playing next season. This will be a year for them to prove themselves imo. I do think all of these freshman can contribute as well -- sounds like the competition will brew some good lineups.

I like it. Bigger rotation while developing, shrink it down while competing.

in the blue ribbon preview, coach ash said he may go with a 10 man rotation. Perfect chance to bring back the Coach G hockey line changes. That still gives me nightmares. I remember sitting in the stands screaming at him for making those crazy hockey line changes. I never saw anything like it and I hope I never do again.

It also presents the chance to switch things up depending on who we’re playing. We can run a lineup of guys who are all 6’4+, run two big men, etc. I’m interested to see what ash has cooked up going into year two on the creative side of things

I'm wondering how we are coming to the conclusion here that a team coming off a 10-win season has "depth".

I’m not necessarily saying we have depth like the sixers lol, but but we have 4 freshman that can all contribute and we graduated one player. When you have a team that are all pretty much the same playing level apart from the walk ons, that’s some depth
