I am little shocked this wasn't mentioned earlier today, but the mens baseball team won the Liberty Bell championship last night at Citizens Bank park. While their record might not be great at 7 - 27, it is still a nice achievement. Congrats.

I posted a quick mention of this in the Phillies thread on the basketball board. I appreciated that the guys played tremendously hard and never quit. We don't always have Penn on the schedule. They're a winning record team that outhits opponents .290-.259 and also has the best pitching in the ivy league. La Salle split with them in 2012 and lost in both meetings since.
The 8th inning rally was fantastic. Penn's freshman starter looked unhittable. He pitched nine strikeouts including a string of five straight. After they lifted him, La Salle finally got on the board with the 2-run homer in the 8th. The MVP of the game must have been Ben Faso, who turned an unassisted double play and also hit the late homer that drove in the winning run.
The Phillies organization does a tremendous service by hosting the tournament every year. It's an honor for La Salle to participate and winning it must be a thrilling reward for the players and coaches.
