Scouting report from someone who saw him late this season:
"This kid is an ultra athlete. But a lil Raw, really a quick jumper, gets his head near rim. He's a way better big man athlete than anybody on wood or Neumann Gorretti and they have some good big men"
Supposedly has ivy grades, too

So the conclusion here is, the staff wants him and ordinarily he could come to school, redshirt and then play..... but we don't have room on the roster so they turn him on to some prep programs and he gives them a non-binding commitment while going to a school that will get him noticed by more schools
If I'm ever to believe that our luck is finally returning it will be when a situation like this works out better than we could hope. Meaning, the kid stays true to his commitment AND gets better before he comes to school.
He sounds like a great kid with obviously limited basketball experiences and I hope he's a big piece of further success at La Salle. Welcome aboard!

A lot of times a college will guide kids to a particular prep school because they knew that coach will do their best to stave off other college. Not sure that's the case here, but it's possible.

He will have signed his NLI before he ever plays a game for Putnam. His exposure there won't impact his commitment. It's the spring and summer AAU circuit you have to worry about. But he seems genuinely excited about coming. On his Instagram profile, he's already showing La Salle Class of '22.

Miley DixonLa Salle is mentioned as a place of interest for Mikey Dixon, MAAC freshman of the year leaving Quinnipiac.... Unsure if he is an A10 level guy....

Math is not my strong point.....the kid did mention LaSalle. Love the Sam Hinkie reference....it wouldn't be scholarships it would be "future assets."

Back on track now. City of Basketball Love has an update on Conshy Tournament. Big news is 6-4 G Izaiah Brockington from Arch. Bishop Ryan has de-committed from NJIT. He will reclassify as 2018 and attend Prep School. I have no idea or inside info on whether La Salle would have interest. Just pointing out a terrific talented natural born scorer. He is also a lefty. In PCL semi's at Palestra, he scored 31 against Wood. I think he averaged 18 per game for the season. Got better as the season progressed. Fun to watch. www.cityofbasketballlove.com/news_article/show/780967?referrer_id=1566508Article also has pieces on 6-8 JR Ajiri Johnson from Bonner. He is very good. One of the few post players these days with a turnaround jumper. Andrew Sims 6-6 JR from Lenape has "interest" from La Salle.

Was on fire on difficult jumpers off the bounce against a great Wood team. He certainly seems like at least a MAAC-level player, but not sure if he's an efficient A-10 level player. Probably a good decision for him to do the prep year

Looks like we offered Tyrese Martin of William Allen. Everything I read says he's reclassifing and taking a prep year. He retweeted the offer.

Apparently, La Salle has offered Jack Clark. 6'5" wing from Cheltenham/Philly Pride. Looks like he also holds offers from Delaware, CCSU, Towson, Bowling Green among others.

Can anyone circulate a list of players/recruits and when folks are scheduled to graduate? After this 17/18 year, I think our guards will be good, but our frontcourt looks pretty weak. 5 guard offense?

We'll have Sullivan for 3 years, and the incoming freshmen (DaJour and Brookins) plus the kid going to Putnam. There will be 4 bigs, but they will be young. It's time to hit on a project big. We only hit on 1 project big in about 15 years, since Steve Smith, that being Steve Zack.

He was a sleeper / fairly under the radar guy, but IIRC, he came in locked and loaded.

He didn't start playing basketball until his junior in high school, with an offer from Kutztown. My friend's father, Iggy Brodzinski, pushed him to play organized hoops, and he took off once he got to 20th and Olney.

Putnam kid is a little farther along than the two mentioned above but may be more one dimensional as a rim protector unless his O game picks up at Putnam, where he'd likely get pressure from P-5, especially BE, offers. Not looking good IMO.

That's not a project.
