Since I started the 2016 and we had some good days I am starting 2018 and hoping we take it to another level.
Let me say that the Philadelphia Catholic League is loaded for this class of 2018. Roman, Neumann-Goretti and Carroll all have targets for La Salle. Wood should be a legit challenger for League and State titles.
Also from what I heard O'Hara is awakening. New HC could be bringing in some interesting talent.

I coached a clinic that Justin Anderson would do every week when he was in maybe 5th or 6th grade. Always pretty talented lefty. I'll definitely have to see him play this year, see how he looks. We offered him. verbalcommits.com/players/justin-anderson-pa

Here's what I have so far on 2018 recruits. This is all based on info taken from various internet recruiting sites. Bolded names have been offered and the rest have gotten interest from La Salle. I'm sure there are others which just haven't made it online yet. As far as I know, Ayala has already eliminated us from consideration but I'm not 100% certain. He is getting offers from the Kentucky's and Duke's of the world now.

Seeing four names from North Carolina on that list -- anyone know if these were connections made pre or post-Brady? Very intriguing, and glad we're hustling Maryland to build continue our connections that we've built recently through Moultrie's recruitment.

I'd imagine they are mostly pre-Brady connections, unless it's with a coach, AAU program. La Salle should be getting slightly better recruits than JMU and with Brady being a little further south maybe he had relationships with coaches etc. that have helped, but I can't imagine many of the players he was recruiting at JMU are already being recruited by La Salle, just based off of the little time he's had here as well as how our recruiting already goes. For him to have been talking to 2018 recruits seriously in 2015-2016 would seem a bit far off, I'm sure he had some feelers out there, but can't imagine there was a ton of serious interest when he was at JMU. With that being said, Dajour could have been someone he saw, but I hate to speculate into a "who recruited who" argument because the fact is no one knows who saw each player first, and I imagine most decisions are made by a committee, obviously with G having the final look/call.

After our game with FGCU, I went to Archbishop Wood to catch the Coaches vs. Cancer Classic. (Wood has hosted this for the last 3 seasons and put on an outstanding event). Many La Salle recruiting targets were there including RCHS's JR 6-2 Allen Bertram, Abington's SO 6-7 Eric Dixon (yesterday's Inky said we were involved) and Wood's JR 6-11 Seth Pinkney.
Bertram had 23. Roman is not tall so he plays mostly forward. He reminds me of Nazeer Bostick who played at Roman and is now at Penn State. Bertram is very boisterous. Plays with a lot of energy and intensity.
Eric Dixon is a highly touted forward. He reminds me of former SJU(PA) player Carlin Warley who I think was a 14/11 guy. Dixon is a lefty but can use his right to dribble. Mr. Inside/Outside. Has incredibly soft shot. He did it all yesterday. Scored 27 from everywhere on the court including a corner 3. I loved his demeanor on the court. Never lost his conposure despite the refs, opponents and sideline honorary coaches.
Dixon's teammate So. Lucas Monroe is another talent but currently not mentioned with us. Struggled yesterday but the kid is really good.
With Matt Brady in the house, Seth Pinkney either blocked or deflected 7 shots in the first half. (Wood was running Scranton Prep out of the gym at half so I didn't stay for the rest of the game). Pinkney is VERY VERY thin. I think I could get my hand around his ankle. So he is a project but that could play into favoring a local school like La Salle. He gets pushed around but competes. I don't think he scored and might have grabbed a couple of rebounds. He is mobile.

Update on how some commits and targets are doing.
Miles Brookins is averaging 7.9 pts.,3.7 rebs. and one block through 14 games. The last four games have been much more competitive for the team. Played Bishop Gorman and Lynbrook among others where the team went 3-1. In the last four games, he has 17 pts. 12 rebs and 5 blocks. For the season, he is shooting 65% from the field (1-1 from 30 and 61% from the line. Will play two more games this week in Damien Tournament.
I was planning to drive to Cape Henlopen HS to check out the Slam Dunk on the Beach tourney but found out they streamed the games. Disappointed that Moultrie did not play for McNamara in their two games but there were a few La Salle 2018 targets on display including Wood's 6-11 Seth Pinkney, N-G's 6-9 Marcus Littles and St. Benedict's 6-5 Matthue Cotton.
Pinkney played against a really talented and physical Roselle Catholic in the first game and a smaller Sanford DE. Roselle banged him around and made it hard for him to defend in man defense. Played 18 minutes, with 4 points, 4 rebounds and a block. Wood destroyed Roselle from the 3 and held on for a huge win. Against Sanford, Pinkney, had 3 pts., 7 rebounds and a couple of blocks. He scored all his baskets on putbacks except for a layup and a free throw. he has good form on his FT shooting but went 1-4. He is mobile but lacks experience and stamina at this point in his career.
Marcus Littles from N-G is 6-8 or 6-9 and I'd guess 250. He is built a lot like Devon White except a little less bulky. I was a little disappointed in the game. Guards dominated. Saw very little. Will see him in PCL.
Matthue Cotton is a 6-5 wing from St. Benedict's. Silky smooth lefty. Beautiful jumper from 3 even though he was 1-5 Can do it all but let the game come to him. Team player. Very intelligent. Boxscore read 4-9/1-5/7-9 for 16 pts and 5 rebounds.
Players to watch are Wood's Collin Gillespie. Tough Philly guard.I think he had 35 against Roselle Catholic and Sanford. About two weeks ago, he had offers from Maine and another AE school but has now received Hofstra and Rider with more to come. I think Drexel offered.
Jyrie Davis is a 6-5 FR wing from Sanford DE. Had 15 against Wood and you can see the talent.
OT- in the Wood-Sanford game. Wood was called for 6 personal fouls and Sanford was called for 11 personal fouls. That was for the entire game. Wow. Can we get those refs for some of our games?
Final OT is Wood has at least four players that can make 3's consistently. For the two games in the tournament, the team was 23-46. Fun team to watch.

Today and tomorrow Widener Univ in Chester is hosting a big Jameer Neslon Foundation showcase. Jarrod Stukes (La Salle HS) will play both days, as well many of the area's (and Delaware) great teams. Full schedule is at playbyplayclassics.com or twitter @pbpclassics

Are we recruiting Stukes? It's tough finding anything about his recruiting online...unless I'm just missing it altogether.

We did not recruit Stukes. He is getting some D-2 interest from what I heard. He is also about 5-8.
I had a chance to see the second game for St. Benedict's at the Slam Dunk at the Beach. Matthue Cotton was the best player on the floor last night. That includes UNC recruit Jalik Felton from Gray Collegiate who had 39 the night before. Cotton was 8-15/7-12/6-6 for 29 points in 29 minutes. Chipped in 4 rebounds with 5 assists and 1 turnover in a 88-51 demolishing of Gray Collegiate.
Cotton is a classic "catch and shoot" wing. No hesitation and quick release. I would like to see him have a few more contested shots and maybe put the ball on the floor more to get a real feel for his game at the college level.
I mentioned Sanford School DE 6-5 FR Jyare Davis yesterday in a post. Last night, he went 8-20/3-7/7-8 for 26 points and 12 rebounds. I really like this young man.

Aren't we already one over with Traci Carter? Does this give credibility to talk that Yvegen, Shuler and/or Moultrie won't be here next year? I'm fervently against us blindly speculating on any guys who might be leaving the program, absent hard evidence, but those first 2 guys will be Seniors next year, so that's not usually a time guys decide to transfer.

I use to get all excited reading about the new talent coming in because we are a maybe next year will be the year program. After seeing what G did with one of the most hyped classes in 13 years I refuse to be fooled again. G will coach to his average this year which will be around .500. At this point it doesn't matter who he brings in. We will not win consistently enough for an at large and he has not had any A10 tourny success. This is G and this is LaSalle basketball. It is what it is. We are what we are. A change may or may not improve us but we know what we are getting if we stay the course.

I was hesitant to post and your post only confirmed my initial thoughts...deleted Given that, I agree it's not a good time to transfer but neither looks happy with their current situations...
