New Prez, New AD, new Bball coach. Today they gave FB Coach Brock his walking papers. I thought that they would wait until the end of the season. Turmoil here in Blue Hen Country...

Losers of four straight. One might say their season ended yesterday when they were knocked out of CAA contention.

.......and really knocked out of any consideration for the NCAA FB tournament. Meanwhile the coach the ex AD fired -- KC Keeler -- is 5-0 at Sam Houston State....

And KC Keeler's offensive coordinator at Sam Houston State is...Phil Longo, who was the coach of the Explorers for a few years...

DE now have trashed their most valuable athletic asset. Their 28-3 loss to Stony was their 5th straight conference loss. The last time that happened was 1939. Maybe they should have waited until the end of the season to fire Brock. There is a lot of turmoil in Blue Hen country. Their Bball team visits Gola soon enough...

Based on who UD hires I may be tempted to get FB season tix next year.
There is a certain weirdness in my history about DE season tix. In 2000 I gave up my UD Men's BB season tix in a divorce settlement.

And Phil Longo is about to be named as Offensive Coordinator at Ole Miss... Wow. He was the O-Coordinator at Sam Houston State this year. They put up 38 or more in their first 12 games, then just 7 in a quarterfinal loss to JMU.

I saw a lot of the Sam Houston - JMU game. You couldn't tell much about the Sam Houston Offense with all the turnovers, etc. It is kind of weird tournament Sam Houston was he #1 team in the country goes on the road to play at #4 JMU. I am not sure how they do their seeding. I do think the CAA is the best football conference in the country at that level....

"The 2016 championship field consists of 10 automatic qualifiers and 14 at-large qualifiers. The top eight teams will be seeded, receive first-round byes and host second-round games providing they satisfy the hosting criteria. The 16 other teams will bid to host first-round games. First-round games will take place Saturday, Nov. 26, and the championship will conclude with the national championship game in Frisco, Texas, on Saturday, Jan. 7 at noon (ET) on ESPN2." www.ncaa.com/news/football/article/2016-11-03/college-football-rankings-jacksonville-state-seizes-top-spot-fcsMore importantly: JMU was a higher seed. www.ncaa.com/interactive-bracket/football/fcs

I knew that JMU was the higher seed but I was wondering what the NCAA seeding method was. I thought (and I may be wrong) that Sam Houston was the #1 team in a poll. Here's another interesting development. www.delawareonline.com/story/entertainment/2016/12/15/ud-relaxes-alcohol-sales-bob-delaware-stadium/95095124/(My sense is that you had to drink to watch UD FB the last couple of years.) I had season tix to UD football from 1975 until Tubby retired. (I had gone to grad school at UD). It wasn't until after I gave my tickets up that they initiated the now abandoned seat licensing or whatever. I am thinking about getting season tix again as they have some players that I followed in their HS careers. I drove Ford Explorers like from 2001 to 2014. Under pressure from my wife I have driven Dodge Caravans for the last 3 years.

There's a selection committee and it's a real who's who of "Who?" SB Nation says they use an RPI-like formula to determine seedings but it doesn't match up perfectly because there's some subjective analysis in there. You were right about Sam Houston being #1 in a poll though. The formula is included in this pdf. www.ncaa.com/rankings/football/fcs/simple-ratings-system"Greg Seitz (Jacksonville State) is joined on the committee by fellow directors of athletics Chuck Burch of Gardner-Webb, Brian Hutchinson of Morehead State, Richard Johnson of Wofford, Nathan Pine of Holy Cross, Marty Scarano of New Hampshire, Paul Schlickmann of Central Connecticut, Brad Teague of Central Arkansas, Kyle Moates of Missouri State and Jeff Tingey of Idaho State." I drove Ford Explorers like from 2001 to 2014. Under pressure from my wife I have driven Dodge Caravans for the last 3 years. I'm more of a GM guy but I have a crippling addiction to puns and Scandinavian women. Under pressure from my wife I have driven Dodge Caravans for the last 3 years. How I would have responded to that pressure:

There are certain decisions in my life that I have turned over to my wife. She has better judgement than I do when it comes to big purchases. I never was a car guy anyway.

Oh that's fine, I just assumed from the tone that you did not want a minivan. I'm rapidly approaching the age where practicality is a primary concern myself... then again, the only reason I didn't get a Camaro the last time I bought a car was because I didn't want to be the kind of twentysomething that buys a Camaro. Ideally, Chevrolet would make something big and pretty with a V8, but those days are probably long gone.
