Check out the La Salle Athletics YouTube page. There's an outstanding 15 minute interview with Dr. G and Kale with footage from summer practices. I can't put up the link from my Kindle so someone please take care of that for me.

Some notes:
Big shoutout to the explorer club. Should have redshirted Jonnie. Resounding review of Rohan who has a great opportunity this year. Tony looks much better in the short video that they showed. Karl Harris will not redshirt due to Khalid's departure. A ton of transfer talk concluding that Gianninni thinks that next year will be his most talented roster yet. G takes a shot at scheduling critics. The Rowan game is to both show appreciation and for positive PR for both schools. More than an interdivisional college basketball game.

I am a huge fan of this type of media. I think G is a great interview and it does a ton to give fans a little to work with. Otherwise we are just forced to come up with our own outlandish conclusions about everything.

Wonderful segment. Great that they covered all the points that have been discussed here over the last 3-4 months ( especially the transfers and scheduling/Rowan). I know the season is busy but I would hope that we could get something once of month even if it's only 5-10 minutes. Keeps the energy up.
Thanks G and Kale. Keep doing these.

Great interview and some good clips. As much as many of us criticize G sometimes he really is a genuine guy. I don't want La Salle to just achieve but him to be the one that does it. Really important 2 year period ahead for him.
He clearly has completely found his niche with transfers. That comment from Henry says it all.
Tony looks great. Shuler definitely put on some muscle. I was surprised to see how quick Eugene moves. The Rohan Brown comment is a surprise. We all seen those few games were Rohan looked great maybe will see more of them this season. Seems to be giving it his all this season. Pookie is really quick as well.

After the above interview we can probably conclude that:
Khalid Lewis - Although a below average player at La Salle, his transfer will hurt us slightly in the future considering that we're short on players for this upcoming season, and Karl Harris will not be able to redshirt this season which sucks because he probably won't even play much this season, and if he does turn out to be a really good player, we will have lost one year of eligibility for him.
Rohan Brown - With consideration of the Lewis transfer, and the loss of Peterson last year, who in my opinion, is a very strong backup off the bench, we can expect to see a significant increase in minutes for Rohan, and we might even see him in the starting lineup for a couple of games this year. Just watching Rohan's play the last three seasons shows that he does have some serious potential to play a small forward position for La Salle this season.
Karl Harris - We can probably expect him to have a similar season to that of Johnnie Shuler last season... A few decent off the bench performances and small glimpses of potential, but no serious playing time.
Johnnie Shuler - He seems to be a smaller, faster version of Sam Mills... Can run point and shoot threes, will probably get more minutes but not receive any starting roles this season.
Tony Washington - Could have a breakout season, hopefully he can improve like Zack did between his freshman and sophomore years, needs to gain muscle mass.
B.J. Johnson - Will not receive waiver to play immediately, must sit out.
Amar Stukes - Although some say he was great last season, his play was average considering that he should have been a sophomore. Hopefully he can improve his shot and speed, and have a solid season.
Eugene Sakhniuk - Coach seems very confident in him, hopefully he lives up to the hype.
Walk-on - La Salle has another walk-on this year, should be announced in September or October.
Jordan Price & Cleon Roberts - Nothing really to say, should be improved, backbone of the this La Salle team.
O.J. Lewis - Is a senior this year, probably can expect 1-2 minutes a game out of him.
In my opinion, we have to endure an average team in the Atlantic 10 this upcoming season, but strong teams for years after that, if La Salle does finish top-3 in the A-10 or something, it will have been a successful season.

I was surprised to see most are picking us around the same spot either 7th, 8th or 9th. I be perfectly happy with 8th place in a conference that will get 4 or 5 bids this season. Obviously, I want us to be a very strong A10 team but if we are decent I am content with that.
I hope Eugene is as good as some of you are hyping him up.
This season needs to start already.

This team has the pieces to surprise some people. Lot of ifs. I think Shuler is going to get a lot of playing time. The keys are Price, Roberts Eugene and Washington. If those four are as good as they can be then there is a lot of talent on this team. What the team is lacking is experience and playing together as a unit. Hopefully the first 7 games before Villanova will give them the time to come together as a unit. I also hope that the team gets out and runs a lot. It's a shame that we are still 3 1/2 months away from the first jump ball.

It's a shame that we are still 3 1/2 months away from the first jump ball. To start off, the Explorers might have an exhibition game against another team, in which the players could build some chemistry. The summer trip to Prague definitely helped too. However, the first three home games: Towson, Rider, and Lafayette are all obtainable wins, most likely with large home crowds excited for the upcoming season. The next two road games which are against the Penn Quakers, and Rowan, are definitely easier wins unless something seriously goes wrong with the team. Hofstra and Drexel are slightly harder games, but keep in mind La Salle has not lost to a Colonial Athletic Association opponent in the last three seasons. In fact, the Explorers beat Towson, Hofstra, and Drexel on the road last year. Additionally, La Salle has won against six of our first seven non-conference teams in our last time out, with the seventh being Rowan, a Division III school with whom we have never played. At this point in the season, La Salle could be with seven wins and no losses in non-conference play, assuming everything goes as planned for Giannini. The Villanova game on December 13th will be somewhat unpredictable, however. Personally, I'd pick Villanova considering that they return the seven-footer Ochefu, and two power forwards in Kris Jenkins and Darryl Reynolds, whereas La Salle has Tony Washington who is inexperienced, and outmatched against this team, and two small forwards in Rohan Brown and Yevgen Sakhniuk, who probably won't be capable of stepping up against this height. The Explorers will be dominated in the paint and therefore lose by double-digits. The Miami matchup will probably be the same scenario, however if our guards can step up and shoot well, La Salle could win. At this point in the season, La Salle will be with seven wins and two losses, still performing well. The last two non-conference games against Florida Gulf Coast and Temple are slightly easier competition, and by this time of the season, La Salle will be ready for this level of play and win both games, by minor margins. My prediction for the La Salle Explorers record at the end of non-conference play is 9 wins and 2 losses, with high potential entering conference games.

Ryan, I think there is potential for solid play and a few good wins. I don't see 9-2 by any means. Hofstra and Towson are better teams then it seems on paper and are the quintessential low brand name teams that end up with decent RPI and always give us a solid SOS by the end of the year. I think either of those games could be losses. I expect Temple to be a toss up as will FGCU and could see us at 7-4.
I also don't think that the big man matchup's are going to hurt us as much. We will be a perimeter team similar to what we were when we were highly guard oriented and we won't be playing a motion to the post. If teams try to play us inside on offense I think Washington and one of the forwards can hang. There is'nt much difference in size from last year to this year and we always played with a short bench in the front court. I am excited about the season and am looking at a 7-4 OOC. Very happy with anything better.

Yes 7-4. or potentially 6-5 as it is not unknown for La Salle to drop a game we're supposed to win in OOC. The most improvement will show in the last 10 games or so.

I would say going off close to nothing that we shouldn't lose games against Towson, Rider, Lafayette, Penn, Rowan or Drexel. Playing much of our non con at home definitely helps. However, I didn't expect us to lose to American either last season.
I wouldn't put Drexel and Hofstra in the same competition. Both CAA teams but Hofstra is going to be very good next year. Clear favorite out of the CAA. Only competition is W&M. Towson should be decent probably right behind them but they lost a couple decent players.
Playing at FGCU is not going to be easy. They have some turnover but they are the program that has consistently been good for a number of years now.
Penn might be better than anticipated. Donahue is not a bad coach and they have a good recruiting class coming in. I don't see us losing that game but you never know with Big 5 games.
Temple guard game is not going to be good. If we shoot well we win that game. As always though rivalry games are tough and can go either way.
Nova is just all around a better team. We would have to catch them not only a bad night but a very bad night to beat them. Don't see that happening at all.
Miami game is going to be interesting simply because we are playing them at the Palestra. I don't see us winning this game either they have very good guards, a solid coach and we haven't beat them yet in this series. Playing at the Palestra helps. Really couldn't tell you the last time we got beat down. We usually either win or put up a good fight.

Ehhh don't overestimate Florida Gulf Coast, they definitely have potential, but they're just not that good. I forgot that Temple has mostly seniors this year and only lost one or two players last year, they should be very strong. I think La Salle can easily be 9-2 at the end of non-conference play. We have everything we need: a solid point guard in Stukes... a strong shooter in Jordan Price, Johnnie Shuler, and Cleon Roberts, whether the numbers show it or not... an experienced and talented 21 year old sophomore in Yevgen Sakhniuk... decent young talent off the bench with Karl Harris and Tony Washington... rounded off with a veteran leader in Rohan Brown.

We could run this offense and it might work well:
Amar Stukes - 6'2 Cleon Roberts - 6'5 Jordan Price - 6'5 Rohan Brown - 6'6 Yevgen Sakhniuk - 6'7

Team has enough firepower to get some good wins but not enough depth to do it consistently. Will be fun to follow because of that potential to win almost every night.

How is Temple going to be very strong? Believe me I respect Temple but that isn't going to be the case this season. Many on this board told me I was crazy when I said they be a good team last season. When Jesse Morgan became eligible for them they looked fantastic at times.
Temple front court is really solid with Bond up there. DeCosey does have some good size to him and is their best offensive weapon this season. Josh Brown is a decent guard but needs to take a BIG step forward.
Temple already wasn't a good offensive team and lost Morgan and Cummings. Two of their biggest offensive weapons now gone and their only replacement is Alston. Lowe can play the guard position as well but wasn't recruited as a high level shooter. Alston and Lowe might be good in time but to think their offense is going to be better this season is definitely not happening.
Temple might be a very good defensive team but if anyone watched Temple in the beginning of last season would know how rough their offense was without Morgan.

I shouldn't be saying this because they'll probably start losing, but they're giving #1 UNC a rough game so far. DeCosey with 7 and Coleman with 8...

Well it didn't last long. They got crushed.
But Temple homers will say "positive signs despite getting crushed by almost 25 points"
