So are we going to get any scorecards or stats? They have to be playing or have played a game today.

Doubt they played today - probably tomorrow since they likely didn't arrive until TueAM

It is odd there has been no press release from the school and update of the schedule there.

Doubt they played today - probably tomorrow since they likely didn't arrive until TueAM I wouldn't have thought they play 4 games in a row but whatever it is we have heard nothing. It really isn't hard for an assistant or anyone of that staff to let us know the schedule.

Yes, remember when they posted that the off-season trip to Canada was an "overseas" trip! We at least got coverage of those games over the Internet. I guess they don't deem these games as coverage-worthy or "the Internet is down" in Prague this week.

I believe the lack of info is by design. It gives G lots of room to experiment without a lot of watchful eyes. I'm sure he is recruiting also. We should move on to other topics until the school or coaches provide formal info.

A crazy idea would be to email Kevin or Kale to see where you could get some information, if you're that desperate. No one should have to email Kevin or Kale for information. It should be a no-brainer for some type of press release to be issued. It's called marketing the program. No one is looking for minute by minute updates. How about some general information on who and when they're playing and possibly some tweets after the games with the scores and who led the team in scoring and rebounding. La Salle should be thankful they have fans interested and loyal enough to want this information. Why did we have to rely on an article from Josh Verlin at the City of Basketball Love site to get any information at all? G was very forthcoming with him. Why wouldn't he give the same access to La Salle's own Athletic Communications department? When St Joe's went to Italy a few years ago, there were articles, pictures, and even some video posted, not just of basketball, but also when they did the tourist stuff. I'm not saying La Salle needs to provide that much coverage, but at least throw us a bone.

Eh, being honest, half the people who care about this trip will get a call or a text from one of the players. The other half are here.

I think this is much ado about nothing. Will these games tell me anything about how the team will perform by November? Pretty unlikely. The competition is probably suspect and frankly speaking, I'm not sure the players heads will be in the games 100% of the time. They're there to have some fun, see the world and play a little basketball. If I don't hear anything, I'm not going to sweat it too much. It's May, guys.

I guess we should let the half-filled stands and apathy continue on rather than consider the obvious step (to me) of generating the genesis of excitement and anticipation for the upcoming season.

You think the gap between "students don't fill the home games" and "fully immersed fandom" is a blurb about us versus University of Southern Prague? C'mon. Its a non-issue. If anything the perpetual whining and criticizing is a bigger detriment to our universal end goal.

Publishing a press release with some info about the trip on GoExplorers.com might take in total a half an hour of someone's time to do. You can't do that for the school's flagship sports program? And I can pretty much assure you that if any of the player's heads aren't into the games, they will be sitting next to Pappy at the end of the bench getting a talking to. I believe that at least two of the games will be against a Czech National team (not sure which age group but probably U19-20 or U21-22) so they should be challenged. G's own words at the banquet were that this is a "business trip". He wants them to have fun and enjoy the culture, but this is the first step in preparing this team for 2015-16 because they're switching to a different style with the 4 guard offense.

My point was this is May and the games have little to no importance, so I really don't think that stats, scores etc. from the games have very much relevance to this fall's team. Complaining, bitching, kvetching, whatever you want to call it about an event in May is in my mind not worth it. Now if this was November, then yeah, I'd want to know a little more.

Yeah - and to think that (for some reason) we bother to post on this forum in May. What a waste. We all should not care enough to post in May. It is of zero importance. Guess we all need to get a life. I'll just await the a repeat of the tremendous (enthusiasm) generated last year right to the Davidson game. Flagship program indeed. I can't believe that any wonderment exists about why we have the worst Big 5 fan base (ok - tied with UPenn at best). Yes, most certainly a meaningless trip for the fan base - the fans who support the program - the fans who decline in number each year due to this type of behavior blowing a slamdunk opportunity.

La Salle is paying a nice piece of change for this trip. Yes they will see some sights and have a nice trip but this is a SERIOUS trip for them (two guys in particular). They would be Johnnie Shuler and Tony Washington (G addressed that at the banquet). G mentioned that he is changing the offense and emphasizing a quicker tempo.(Not sure if the 30 second clock will factor into the games). Adding Yevgen to the mix. Also see where Stukes stands in the rotation. So there is lots to see and play for on this trip.

It's business as usual, let's not overstate or minimize this trip. It won't be 24 hrs of basketball. They'll have their practices, games and typical meetings. It's an opportunity for players to get some time that normally won't have that chance during the season but careers won't be made our broken on this trip.
It'll help the coaching staff try new things but mostly allow the players time to bond with each other and face competition in a more structured atmosphere than pick up or summer leagues where the team is made up of players from different schools.
It will be interesting to see/hear if any players step up and/or stand out though.

Sorry, I forgot to put my response in SARCASM font. I was kidding people. Only thing I can think of is that Kevin/Kale/whoever isn't with them, and that is the reason for no updates. Doesn't make it right, but just a possible explanation.

Thanks BJ! I've got to imagine there is a ton that's dependent on the progress of Washington for this year. Would love to see Yevgens game. There is a ton of 's that could be answered FOR OTHER COACHES and fans if there was better coverage. I don't mind the anticipation.
