There is usually an thread this time of year that discusses college basketball coaching changes. The link below has a continuing list... hoopdirt.com/article/76f90f70/tracking-the-2015-college-basketball-coaching-chan/I see Herb Sendek got his walking papers from Arizona State. Some speculation that Jeff Capel will be offered the job. Honestly, when Dickey Nutt got canned by Southeast Missouri State it got my shorts in a knot.

Herb Sendek gone at ASU...talk about mediocre, 20 games over 500 in 9 years of coaching. Should've stayed at NC State.

No one has been overly successful there in a long time. It is a tough place to win. But yea maybe he should have stayed at N.C. State but Idk the circumstances there.

Wasn't Sendek under fire at NC State and that's why he took the ASU job? I thought that might have been the case, but I'm not positive.

How about a scenario where Archie Miller is offered the ASU job? In State rival vs brother Sean's team.

Beyond the head to head, he has to have higher aspirations than "James Harden and ... ummm ..."

NPOA Sendek followed Les Robinson and was followed by Sidney Lowe. Sendek got forced out for not being UNC or Duke after going to 5 NCAA tournaments in his last 5 years at NC St. Gottried has done a nice job of digging out after Lowe.

The possibility of Rick Barnes being tossed at Texas and the fact that Alabama is shopping for a big name coach will cause a domino effect. (Gregg Marshall, Tom Crean? and so on and so on and scooby dooby dooby)

If you're Marshall, do you leave Wichita State, where you are capable of getting to basketball's promise land? Do you leave for a mid-pack SEC team? Coach Cal could be in the NBA next year, so being in Kentucky's conference wouldn't stop me, but to be under wide shadow of the Bama football program, NO WAY.

Biggest reason I'd pass on the Alabama job if I were Marshall is because its in Alabama.

What about the Calipari to the NBA (again) speculation? If that happens, does the A-10 lose Shaka?

Another consequence of the turnover is the assistants. Roland Houston is an assistant at George Mason. I am not sure what his status will be or even if he would be considered as a HC replacing Paul Hewitt.
Houston spent some time here as an assistant with Speedy and Hahn before leaving for GW.

Archie signs through 2021-2022 today. Not going anywhere for the foreseeable future. Looking for details if they are public but I can only imagine this rivals shakas pay scale and control of the program.

UD has been horrible during his tenure as head coach... Coach Ross won the CAA tourney last year and the Hens got the automatic bid to the dance. This year, I think he only had like one senior on the squad and they lost their first 10 games. They finished strong. I had Ross as a goner at Christmas time but he was resurrected in time for Easter. The locals still wish Mike Brey never left. Then again the greatest University of Delaware basketball player of all time is Elena Delle Donne.

Are you a Monte Ross fan, GD? It's a shame about Brey's mother...I think if he had been in any other bracket save the bracket he's in with Kentucky, he could have a Final Four team under his belt.

I gave up my Blue Hens season tickets when Brey left. Brey was succeeded by David Henderson. He was a terrible coach but balanced it out by being a bad recruiter and having zero personality. Compared to Henderson Monte is John Wooden. (Henderson left Monte with a bare cupboard.)
The AD at UD wanted to can Monte. The athletic committee basically overruled him. UD has an interim pres as President Harker has left to run the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia. I think Monte may have dodged a bullet. Remember, we are talking Delaware here.
The Monte Ross years
2006-07: 5-26 (3-15 CAA)
2007-08: 14-17 (9-9 CAA)
2008-09: 13-19 (6-12 CAA)
2009-10: 7-24 (3-15 CAA)
2010-11: 14-17 (8-10 CAA)
2011-12: 18-14 (12-6 CAA)
2012-13: 19-14 (13-5 CAA)
2013-14: 25-10 (14-2 CAA)
2014-15: 10-20 (9-9 CAA)
Total: 125-161 (77-83)
Trivia Question: Monte Ross's first college coaching victory was against________________?

CBS is reporting that Tennessee has fired their coach, Donnie Tyndall, after 1 year. Presumably that is due to NCAA violations from his old job.

Probably why they stopped doing it? Actually they had one scheduled for the following year but it fell through. An SEC team was going to make a trip to Gola to be part of it.
