Putting this up tonight because I will be working tomorrow. Early tip-time due to TV. Hopefully I will be on my lunch break for the 2nd Half.
Obviously not a very good week for us, and URI is one of the best teams in the league this year.

Anybody know any details about Price's undisclosed injury?

I felt extremely confident going into SLU and Fordham and have a horrible feeling about this one and I won't be there live so I guess we win.

URI runs a lot of athletic guards to support a star in Matthews and their front court is solid with Biruta and Martin, a one man block party.
If I were coach, I'd run a lot of set screens to get Price and Roberts wide open. I'd rotate Shuler in liberally to keep Price and Roberts fresh and to ensure that I had at least two perimeter scorers in all day long. If this happens I could see Shuler score 12 points.
The biggest key is to work for good 3s and perimeter shots to stretch the middle.
If we have Price and Stukes drive the lane or pound it down to Wright as a primary offense we will get blocked or tied up, and we will not win. Hopefully G does not bring our standard game plan into today's match. I think he needs to junk the plan to extend the bigs out 24 feet and try to lob the ball down low to guards who are posting up low. That generally does not work for us and definitely won't work against URI.
I also think we rotate Lewis and Stukes every 3-4 minutes to stay fresh, as they will receive constant pressure and extended D.

Same old same old. I just looked at the stats. URI is #3 in the country in 3pt field goals allowed (3.8) and #5 in 3pt field goal attempts allowed (13.0). So I suspect La Salle will have trouble all day since they are #307 in made 3's. URI is #16 in the country in getting to the foul line (24.6 FTA/gm). They get 48% of their points from the line. If Steve and Jerrell in particular pick up 2 fouls in the first 4-5 minutes of either half, I think you can forget it. We've seen that movie.

Wonder if the announcer from last game would call them "yuri". Repeatedly.

Maybe we play our secret offensive weapon 20 minutes today! Shuler needs to fill it up today. Roberts needs to be confident and knockdown some from distance.
This is G's last stand. Get it done in the next 3 games and then we can focus on the a10 tourney.

Looks like Price has some type of lower back injury. Every once in a while he's getting some type of cream rubbed on his back during warm ups.

Shuler got a lot of time with the first unit during warm ups, today might be the day he gets some minutes for those of you begging for him to get meaningful minutes.

The game is on tv and I'll probably watch. But its getting harder and harder to watch this team play uninspired basketball.
When they come out and play one on one basketball and run their offense throwing down low and having Wright power his way to the basket. It really takes all the fun out of college basketball.

You have to start limiting Stukes' minutes. He has no confidence right now. He is so timid. Over thinking every play right now.
I dont know much about Shuler's game but he is aggressive and not afraid to fail. Something this team lacks. Some Balls.

Why so much loyalty to Stukes and none to Shuler?

You can't play unwilling/unable shooters all over your backcourt. This charade MUST STOP!!! It's friggin comical!

I imagine Wright will be doubled as soon as he touches the ball now. Where the points going to come from?

Price's back really seems to be an issue. Moving very gingerly...been carrying an offense with no shooters for too long

We just need to feed Jerrell on every possession until they start doubling him.

We just had a possession where every player on the team tried to 1 on 1 dribble past their defender and failed. Then with just seconds left tried to drive and put up an airball then didn't get back on defense and they got an easy layup. Disgusting

This team should be fun to watch next year after Wright has graduated.
