With the season starting, figured I'd put up a post for all the games the rest of the league is playing, which will obviously all be Non-Con for this month. A lot of the league is starting tonight. Games of interest:
VCU beating Tennessee, Siena in a close one with UMass early in the 2nd.
EDIT: ESP scoreboard showed the game was over when it wasn't on the St. Joe's (of PA)- FDU game.

SJU just lost to FDU....HOLY CRAP.
George Mason is losing to Cornell who went 2-26 last season.
George Washington, VCU and Dayton spanked their opponents. Sounds as though Richmond will win. Very good defensive squad.

G needs to have the guys loose and ready to play. Anyone can win in the first few games if the air is squeezed out of the ball. DJ probably needs to start as a calming force. No one can tell me FD belongs on the same court as SJU. Martelli is so intense that I think it got to the team. I pray that G can calm everyone down and just play our game. Unless Hawks have a great West coast trip, they have pretty much blown any postseason dreams already.

Phil Must Go crowd crawl out of the wood work yet? I know there is absolutely no way this result is good for us, but can I just say, "HA!"

Just don't get why people can't see this as being a very bad St Joe's team. You can't lose your best three players and come out the next season and expect to be a solid or better team unless you are an elite basketball school which there are only a handle full of (Duke, Louis., and maybe 5-8 more). We also lost three players but only one was a top three player and luckily we have a load of replacements in that area in Price , Roberts, Stukes, Shuler, Lewis and Peterson. Four of these players already have college game experience. St. Joe's will struggle big time to win more than 10-11 games.

That JaQuan Lewis (VCU) injury is scary as F to watch. Damn, it looked like they just got wrapped up when they went down, I don't blame the Tenn player there. Not sure if that was a concussion that lead to the seizure like symptoms, but yes, scary S and wish him a quick recovery. Never like to see that.

I would say that our "replacements" are more than that considering most have been part of the program for a year and half of them have D1 level experience. I agree it was an anomaly to see anyone picking them to be close to as good as last year. Too much turnover to overcome.

The back of the head is where the potentially really bad damage happens, right? He just looked awful. Can't understand walking him off and then letting him back on the bench versus going to the hospital.

In other news around the A10: Jordan Hare left Dan Hurley's team at URI today for unstated reasons. I thought he was going to be a big piece of their team this year but maybe the personal reasons for sitting out last year are involved here. Link to Providence Journal

Gosh. If UMass loses to a MAAC team, they would be the 7th A-10 team whose season is officially over and ruined, right?
(St. Joseph's of PA loss to FDU, Mason loss to Cornell, URI losing Hare, Duquesne, St. Bonaventure and Fordham done before the season began.)

Yesterday, 5 of 6 A-10 schools won. As much as I hate to cheer for UMass, it does look better for our conference if they win. Richmond was the only team to lose, and did so to ODU, kind of surprising. Always a good thing when the conference wins their OOC schedule (can't say I'm mad when SJU loses though).

St. Joseph's of PA down 48-10 at the half. There isn't a long enough or loud enough "HAAAAAAA" inside my mortal lungs to properly mark this.

@espnstatsinfo: Gonzaga beats Saint Joseph's 94-42
The 52-pt loss is largest in Saint Joseph's history (previous worst was 44 to Cincinnati in 1959)
