I wasn't able to attend the banquet last night. How did it go?
Did anyone get any good info? Schedule? Recruiting? Transfers?

Hoping someone from the board was there. Usually some good information coming out of it.

Nice sized turnout. Not as large as last year of course, but still a pretty good turnout to recognize the four seniors. G spoke about every player on the team, including the walk-ons, transfers, redshirt, team managers, and also Tony Washington, who G expects to contribute next year. G did his usual good job talking about each person and what they meant to the program. Seniors got extra emphasis and each senior also spoke. They all came across as sincerely appreciative of their coaches, teammates, and their time at La Salle. Really nice group of young men who represented the school very well.
G said that La Salle is expected to open at home against Colgate on November 15 ( I think I heard Colgate!). He did confirm that there would be an 18 game league schedule. He is excited about next year and is anxious to get started. He said team is anxious too and said they self-organized a 7:00 AM practice immediately after the season was over. There were not any public announcements about any additional recruits or transfers.
It was nice to see Steve Smith take the time to attend the banquet. Another b-ball alum present was Dr. Anwar Wilson, class of 01, who must be the tallest emergency room physician in Amarillo, TX.

Olneyman did a terrific job summarizing.
The contract with Colgate has not been received yet so it's not official. Last year we had a verbal agreement with a team that backed out at the last minute and left us scrambling.
Special congrats to Hank Davis who has a 3.9 GPA. Wants to be a doctor. Taylor Dunn is a special young man. Tutored 6 Biology students. I spoke to him afterwards and he's also thinking of Medical School.
Last thing, G mentioned that they have pictures on the wall in the locker room of all the players who graduated in cap and gown. The "advisor" for a recruit said that he had never seen that before in any other locker room. He thought it was pretty neat.
