They seem to have found his twitter account and sending him messages of love. He is supposed to visit there this weekend. twitter.com/BeenGettinChose

Does it violate any NCAA rule for us fans to tweet a recruit?

Does it violate any NCAA rule for us fans to tweet a recruit? That is an excellent question.

Even if it's not a violation, it's creepy as shit. Let this kids have some privacy.

Does it violate any NCAA rule for us fans to tweet a recruit? I suppose technically it is a violation because I believe the definition of booster is so broad. For example,if you ever attended a school or even bought a ticket, you are considered a booster. Booster can not contact potential recruits.

Technically it's a violation but good luck to the NCAA trying to enforce it. You see this all of the time, especially during the signing periods. A while back, I read on the Temple board that a Temple fan we all know and love was asked by someone in their athletic department to back off from engaging recruits on Twitter, so apparently it is a concern. Like ltrain, I also find it creepy and to me, it reeks of desperation. For the most part, I don't think it's a privacy issue though. A lot of these kids eat it up and seem to like it because they end up re-tweeting them a lot. You would hope a kid won't select a school because of a bunch of goofy fans on Twitter.

The Compliance Officer at U of New Mexico must have seen his tweeter account and made Goodman remove all the tweets from the UNM fan base. Very interesting.
Albuquerque newspaper article said he received over 200 tweets from Lobo fans wishing him a good visit and to make a commitment to their program.
