And we are at the 8 minute media timeout of the 2nd half, and still on page 1 of this thread. Lord the team's play as of late has destroyed a lot of the chatter on this board. Just got to second page with 2 minutes left in game. All the Sam Mills haters will quiet down a little after this one. 12 points, 4 assists, 3 rebounds and 2 steals.

I don't think anyone was hating on Mills. He's had a number of games this year where we was nearly invisible offensively. Tonight he wasn't, definitely glad to see it.

I'm focusing on the next 2 against two of the bottom teams in the A-10 (record wise- I'd put Mason above a couple teams) to get to 15-14 and 7-8 in the A-10 heading out to the suburbs for the last game.

This to me is the most concerning thing about this year's performance: Kale says "not a good turnout at Tom Gola Arena." If it's bad enough for him to mention, it's gotta be pretty bad. And we're not on the third page of this thread yet - and the game has been over for about 10 minutes or so.

By the way, that's almost definitely who we're gonna play again in the A-10 tournament. Right now we're in 9th, they're 8th. Every team behind us us has 10 losses, and the team in 7th is Dayton, currently 7-6 with tiebreakers over both of us.
In other words, it would take quite a bit for us or them to move up to 7th or 10th. Most likely playing for shirt color for that game right now.
Also sucks because it'd be the Noon game on Thursday, tough to get to. Obviously getting ahead of myself a bit here.

I've gotten use to watching the games on TV even as bad as they have been playing. Could only hear the last minute on radio. Looking at the box score, they look like they shot pretty good tonight, especially, Mills and Garland.

7 minutes for Khalid (and no shooting). Garland played 29 minutes and shot 4-9 (not so many shots that he's forcing it and hurting the team). Pretty much a 6-man rotation. I like what we did here, at least judging by the stat sheet.
barring a crazy turn of events, looks like we should see Bonnies again in 8-9 matchup in Brooklyn in a couple weeks, then the winner plays St. Louis. shame we couldn't get one or two more games to go our way this year and be lined up to potentially play (name your favorite #2/#3 team in the final A-10 standings) in the quarterfinals... but let's just close out strong these next 3 and maybe that will put the wheels in motion for even the chance of a run.
btw - I'm grateful we get George Mason in Gola and not at their place this year. very deceiving 3-10.

NPOA G adjusted to the 1-3-1 that killed the Explos in Olean and can handle the Bonnies at the Barclay, too. Good to have a solid contribution from Mills tonight in the home stretch of a nice 4-year career.

Place was really empty including student section. Maybe like 15 students tops? Bonaventure had a good group travel with them, at time they were louder than all the fans combined. Half time show was jump rope kids same ones at the La Salle-Penn game. Garland made some nice jump shots and La Salle shot 100% from 3 pt land in the first half I believe they went 7-7?

Wright had about as productive a line as ever (8/12 in 35 min and no foul trouble) with the free throw shooting being the only concern.

I heard that Zack made a 12 foot jumper facing the basket, which Kale harped on. That's good and will be needed next year.

I don't think anyone was hating on Mills. He's had a number of games this year where we was nearly invisible offensively. Tonight he wasn't, definitely glad to see it. I disagree Neumann. While it has not been universal among posters, there have been plenty of comments calling for Mills to be benched and giving his minutes to Dunn (See Steve checking in from his Loony-verse and those agreeing with him) or the pseudo-psychoanalyzing by calling him "afraid" or "playing scared". Sam Mills has brought plenty to this program and while it is hard to watch when he is struggling with his shot, he is still a major contributor in the defense he brings and being a steady ball handler. It was great to see him come out of the offensive funk last night even though it looked like he was fighting a calf injury. Hopefully it was just a cramp and he will be ok going forward. It was also great to see DJ knock down some threes. This is a different team when they shoot the ball. By the way, is Ndoy the biggest flop-artist that we have seen so far this year?

Let me congratulate Sam Mills on last night. This is more like what we needed this year offensively. Sure did make the team look better and more effective.

By the way, is Ndoy the biggest flop-artist that we have seen so far this year? Remarkable contrast between the way the refs reacted to his flopping in the first half versus their total disregard and indifference in the second. It was like they got wise at half time. Seems to me he burnt us and the refs on at least three plays in the first half. You also have to wonder how much getting away with something like that contributed to the interior D being weakened (an already struggling interior D).

You are dang tootin' right in saying folks were justifiably criticizing Mills for his 0 for 5 zero point games and Garland for his 4 for 17 shooting performances... those absolutely kill your team and give you almost no chance to win in the highly competitive A10. These guys are seniors and have to execute offensively and defensively in every game. Coaching plays a huge role in how productive guys are also.

Mills: "Coach wanted me to shoot, but he never told me to shoot it into the basket."
Giannini: "Its true, I neglected to tell him to shoot it into the basket."
Mills: "Had I known that's what he wanted, I obviously would have."
