Zack had 14 rebounds and played 42 minutes. Had a couple of bad moments but so did every other player.

He still has to play better. Besides the first game of season, he's been pretty horrible.

Of course he has to play better, but sorry, it is pretty stupid to say that 8 pts 14 rebounds, including a huge board on Vileanova's 2nd to last possession and hitting 2 FTs with the game on the line is "pretty horrible."

Great win! A very exciting game. And yes, I agree, Giannini coached a pretty good game. (Although he REALLY needs to find a way to rotate people in-and-out of the game so that our best players aren't shooting on dead legs at the end of games.)
Duran almost killed us in the first 2/3 of the game with some really stupid plays and shots. But, to his credit, he came through at clutch time.
A 5-1 November would be a great way to start.

You gotta give credit when due.. G making the change to a zone was huge

Thrilled and stunned....happy for the kids. (Was Billy Hahn wearing that black turtle neck last time we beat Nova?)
(Still chilled and stunned by the loss to CCSU.) Starting to thaw out.

OK, here goes. Defense by Ramon and Sam on Ryan A. was huge. Ramon was possessed. Tyrek was clutch. Z is clearly a work in progress but played with heart and desire and was able to stay on court and 14 boards is great. Coach picked up full court which kept tempo in our favor and the Zone from out of nowhere was great.Negatives: want us to be ready from the tap; want Coach to calm down on bench(borders on showing up players);want JW to learn how to play without fouling; want JW to learn to catch and go to basket without the inexorable number of fakes that do no good; want JW to work on that baby hook which he used once and it looked great; want offense to understand that JW cannot score against a shot blocker; and finally, will somebody tell me why a young man who is 6'9" and 240 cant get off bench when team is w/o JW and when Z is getting no rest and where team is being physically manhandled by opponent(See earlyOT) I do not want to hear that Coach is developing him for 3 years from now. If we had lost, it would have been a direct result of not having backup bigs like I have been whining about for some time. Nova's backup big is not ready, but he bought starters a few minutes-thats all I am asking. Anyway, great Victory mainly bec of heart that was demonstrated.

Can anyone explain the final shot selection, shooting 2 when down 3? All the press video I have seen so far has been mute on the subject. Could Jay Wright be reached for comment?
EDIT - Here's the nugget I was looking for, from Delco Times:
“I wasn’t aware of the time and score,” Pinkston said, a stunningly casual admission. “That was my fault.

A lot to be happy about with this win....and some work to do.
Let's give G some love. He did a good job game coaching.
How did Pinkston not know the game situation and where was Wright's coaching in that situation.
Z is developing nicely. 2 clutch FT at the end tell a lot.
Brown is a nice surprise.

Appears the tables have been turned. I was thinking the same thing with the turnovers. Ryan Arc was good against high school competition but he's not yet big east tested. Our only glaring problem yesterday was fouling them and putting them on the line. We act surprised when they call the fouls. Rohan and Duren not really getting the charges called except for maybe once in the first half. It would be okay as a non call but they must be making early contact as they try to draw the calls, they have not perfected the skill of flopping. If Nova weren't so bad at converting FT, we would have certainly lost the game due to foul trouble.

I give Pinkston a lot of credit for being honest.

Could you imagine if a La Salle player did that and then admitted it in the press? It wouldn't be pretty around here.
