Shame on the A10 for not allowing the streamers. Funny the AAC wasn't mentioned. What was the issue anyway? Weak by the Commish. They really shit the bed on that one, no way around it. Can't believe the goons from Newport News had to muddle in Philadelphia's Big 5 tradition. Total disappointment.

I'm watching the replay. The end of the first half saw Duren/Garland/Lewis/DJ/Zack on the court. Lewis was the difference. He closed out a bunch on Pepper. He corralled their guards and forced them into really awful spots on the court. He just takes away seconds on the shot clock when guarding dribblers. Next time we play, keep an eye on what he does. He's REALLY good defensively. There was a few possessions that he shut down Pepper and friends for the entire duration of the shot clock in the first half. He makes everyone on our squad look slow on defense in comparison, there's just so much foot and hand movement. He is an über athletic guard for a legit 6'3, yet he is so damn quick.. Really makes him different.. I just wish we saw progress on his jump shot, the year he sat out, but it seems to no avail… Great passer, penetrator and dribbler on the offensive end

I just wish we saw progress on his jump shot, the year he sat out... There's flashes on the offensive end so I'm hoping that with a more prominent role next year, he'll be able to get into a better offensive rhythm. I don't think he's seen a situation this year that's provided him a good matchup offensively, coming into to quell defensive woes more often than not. Maybe that'll help - being optimistic.

Rewatched the game. Keeping it short and to the point: - Jerrell and Steve handled a underrated, lengthy frontcourt very well. - Steve might be the best kept secret in the A10. His vision and off-the-ball skills are undeniably great. Between his defensive shifting and rebounding, he should get a gold star. That NBA potential talk ain't just smoke being blown up our asses. - Khalid's defense. Enough said. - Noticed Tyrone's hustle on fast breaks getting back on defense. Deserves recognition. - Temple is much more talented than their record. Injuries and dysfunctionality. We benefitted from their super short bench. - We played real well against the press late, something that's proven near impossible for this squad. - Is there anyway we can buy the Palestra?! Place is gorgeous on TV. - College Gameday gig is pretty nice. Let's do it again next week or something. - And the best sign that didn't make it, Penn '15 baby:

Duren good points. Very happy team has come around and a tough game yesterday agianst big Temple guards for are smaller guards who really aren't that small but in a basketball world they are. I thought T.Garland played a smart game for the most part and he is really starting to shine as of late along with T.Duren. S.Zack really has developed into a heck of a player and even when he doesn't stand out you turn around and he has another double double. Jerrell is a monster down low and if he could just develop a short 10' jumper he would make it very difficult for the opposition. D.J. played a very good game along with Sam who has to shoot more because he is an above average shooter. Peterson and Lewis really are very good defenders.

Can I get a couple of rule clarifications? There were just a lot of bang bang plays, and I'm going to see if it's more or less obvious on tape. 1. When we were inbounding the ball under the basket, a Temple player clearly had most of one of his feet out of bounds impeding the inbounder. Usually, an official stands there and enforces this space but the refs turned a blind eye to this. When this happens, isn't it illegal? and if so, shouldn't our inbounder point to the floor and try to get that rightful space back? 2. When we knocked the ball out of bounds 26 seconds before halftime, how did this constitute a new shot clock? G wanted an explanation from the refs and got one. I don't know what the explanation could have been, but we did not have possession, it was just a tip out of bounds, from my view. We could have gotten the ball back here. 3. These refs seemed to want to call everything a jump ball, and I tend not to like that. There were some head scratches by both fans after some of these calls. 4. At one point in the first half, La Salle had 7 fouls and Temple had 5. The ref crew consistently avoided calling handchecks on Temple. Then, at the end of the game they didn't even call Temple's intended fouls to send Zack to the line and maybe even Duren, killing plenty more clock and sending Tyrone Garland to the line, eventually instead. This may have hurt Temple. Hykos, just catching up on the board, and it seems like no one answered your questions, so I'll try 1. It is illegal to reach over and touch the ball, actually is a T, but stepping out just gets overlooked. If the dude is like half OB and deflects inbounds pass, something would probably be called. 2. According to Saunders, the refs considered that a steal by Reek and a turnover on him. Hence possession changed and a new shot clock. Very weak, but that was how they explained it. 3. The worst non-call was I think Lee's hop-skip-and-a-jump layup late in the game. Took at least three steps before laying it in. The one jump ball that I believe Khalid got was a quick whistle for sure. 4. They did avoid a lot of little things, but the hip check DJ took late in the game before he hit his two FTs was a pretty soft call, and I think he actually lunged into the defender and got the call. Let's not focus on those things though. We got the W, ended a long losing streak to them, continued our streak of winning when leading at the 5 minute mark and kept our momentum going. Big day all around for Explorer Nation. PS - Whoever asked, that is Lt. Col. LeVien I believe the spelling is. Former baseball great in the early/mid 90s.

Watch the goexplorers.com recap. I would post it but don't know how from my phone. Watch it until the end and notice the players going over to the student section. It was so nice to see. G said these students have been bred with success. He is right. These students only know winning basketball. I always watch the recaps. They do a great job.

This question was asked previously but I do not recall seeing an answer. Was G. Davis on the bench and if not why not.

what grade did ya give 'em? He gave them a "D." Now I know why they call him Coach D. Got bored, averaged his grades for officials since the beginning of time (2006-2007 season)... So consistent, a nearly perfect D average. Off 5 hundredths of a point from a perfect middle D. Not even going to lie, I'm impressed. Officials failed for total incompetence/corruption, F grade, 56 times. The commish even got failed 3 times. Silly A10.

Hykos brought up interesting point which I noticed too. TU's McDonnell was standing out of bounds with BOTH feet. I never saw that before and that includes 4th grade CYO ball. What was amazing was later another TU player had one foot out of bounds. I wonder if it every crossed DJ's mind to intentional throw the ball off McDonnell and get the technical foul if he had the chance?

Totally agree 89...about the Team going over to the fans. Best part of the clip and its a great show of support from both sides on Saturday. And loved the TD reax after hitting the 3 Kudos to the producers of the recaps on GoExplorers. Great job of mixing highlights, sound bites, Kale, and music all in a few minutes. I look forward to them after every victory. I plan to continue to check them out 20 more times this season. BTW..was G sleep-reading during the post game presser?
