Now that we're in to league play, figured I'd put something up to discuss A-10 games, standings, how are next few opponents are doing, etc.
Everyone except Dayton has played 1 A-10 game so far. To me, right now, you've got UMass, VCU, St. Louis, and Dayton all with big records, who seem certainly legit. Below that, you've got teams like URI, Bonnie's, and GW with sterling records, but still need to prove it in the A-10.
Then there's everyone else. Right now, I think you have to put us in the third group, although we'll see how it shakes out the next few weeks.
With so many national TV games, there will be a bit more variability this year. Probably won't be a lot of "6 games Saturday, 6 games Wednesday" type weeks anymore. The plus side is you'll be able to watch an A-10 game on TV probably 4-5 nights a week.
Tomorrow, you've got SLU-Dayton at 11AM on ESPN2, Bonnies-UMass on NBCSN at 12:30, URI-GW on NBCSN at 2:30, and Joe's- Mason on CBSSN at 8:00. The only other game is Richmond-Fordham, which is not on national TV, but I know is on SNY here in New York.
Then we're on NBCSN Sunday. Not too bad for the league.

Agreed about the coverage. Wish CBSSN wasn't the network of choice for the A10 later in the year since I don't get that channel. Regardless, I don't think you can drop GW just yet from the top four NCAA contenders. Their RPI is 37 which will get them in if the season ended today AND they did beat Creighton. They need to add some more quality wins in there.

If team can shoot between 42-44 percent in most games we will end up top 5 in league play. We shot good against GW and we see what happened. This holds true for most teams unless they are out shot by 10-15 shots a game by opposition. After watching last two games I feel team has improved and should be good going forward. Sunday's game will be telling and if we lose to a weak Dukes team then last two games were a blip. I think we could have a nice run of 6-7 games in a row if we play smart basketball,2 down 5 to go.

Great thread. I plan to watch as many games (or portions of games) as possible.
UMass - SJU was a great game. Caught the beginning of VCU Mason and Mason was far more athletic than I expected especially against the VCU racehorses; they go a little overboard with the street ball but they are clearly explosive. Also saw an OOC game with URI - Providence and URI has talent. Of course our GW game was classic.
This will be the most competitive and balanced year yet for the A10. Temple obviously saw that coming and got out ;-)
Let the games continue!

George Mason is a different team each time they take the court watched them a number of times. Hewitt is an awful coach, simply fundamentals missing.
I don't know if anyone watching this Saint Louis game but they are VERY good, top 25 IMO. If they beat Dayton I don't see them losing a game until traveling to philly for SJU and La Salle.
Our schedule is perfect and the students just received an email from G, really cool. Interesting to see what going to happen. UMass also has another great schedule. The bonnies while have a solid record have an AWFUL SOS so I want to see how they fair today.

As of now, Lunardi has more A-10 teams in the tournament than Big East teams. I know there's probably a homer argument to be made about but that will be awesome if that holds up. F that league.

On another note, if that does happen, I think we can guarantee the Big East will want to expand further and will try and gut the conference entirely and take St. Louis, Dayton, Richmond and VCU. They're just scumbags like that.

Bonnies going to steal our upset at UMASS lol? Think they're going to tough it out, but this conference is really going to beat itself up pretty good this year.

Elsewhere: 2OT at the DAC, Drexel v Northeastern. First time watching Drexel this season. Not terribly impressive for the supposed second best team in the city. They do have some major injury problems.

They do have some major injury problems. Has any team had more multiple-OT games in one season? This seems like it's their 19th one this year. Shame Lee got hurt. Drexel was going to tear up the CAA.

No no lunardi is a genius in January he is so good at predicting what happens in march, pretty sure this time last year he had the explorers in the NCAA. In all seriousness stop with the insecurities of comparing the a 10 vs the big east it makes us look weak. The a 10 is a good conference and let the wins against the other conferences speak for themselves. Here is to the start of a good run by the explorers.

That win versus GW is starting to look like an ugly chick after 15 drinks. Keep it rolling, GW.

Forcs the turnover... Scramble and hit the layup to take the lead... Hold on 88-87... Hewitt needs to better down the stretch
