My expectation is that next season is even more important than this one. It is the last year for both Wright and Zack. I suspect it will be awhile before we again have such a powerful combination up front There is a whole lot of preparation work to be done, though. Both JW and SZ need to develop 10-15 foot jumpers to round out their game. JW also needs to work on his right hand. Both (particularly JW) should FULLY understand that it is better to give up an isolated basket than draw a foul. Two points against us, or even sometimes when a tough shot is missed, is better than bench minutes for foul trouble. Also, it allows them to play better defense on a team's other possessions because that one play could have resulted in a 2nd or 3rd personal.
Additional thoughts coming later if anyone cares.

Right now, not knowing the schedule, landscape of the A-10, or anything else, my goal next year is winning record overall, .500 or better in the A-10, which would translate to probably 7th place or so.
I think that's realistic, given all the new guys coming in. Next year was going to take a bit of re-tooling, no matter what happened this year. Obviously the failures of this year tamp things down a bit. But you can't keep putting up 17 or 18 loss seasons. An extrapolation of G's philosophy on not losing 2 games in a row from last year, would be not having 2 "down" years in a row.
Does anyone know what games are locked in to the non-Con for next year? Aside from Villanova (home), Penn(home) Temple (away @ Palestra) or course.

Guessing that MAAC agreement is still in play, so that's what? Two MAAC games?

I agree it'll probably be awhile before we have two talented bigs at the same time. You're right about JW and SZ needing to develop 10-15 foot jumpers, but unfortunately, I don't think that will happen. They should have developed jumpers by this year and didn't, so it's very unlikely that they will next year. I think the same can be said about JW and SZ drawing fouls as well as JW learning to go to his right. By a player's junior year, they're usually developed into the player they're going to be. That's not to say they can't or won't develop further, but it's unlikely to happen. That's why having good 3 point shooters next year will be so important. If we don't have those shooters, we're going to see more of the same from other teams where they pack it in and dare us to kick it out for the jumper. Zack and Wright are pretty much WYSIWYG for next year.

With that said about Zack and Jerrell, how often has anyone on this team taken a 10-15 shot? It's three or in the paint, very predictable IMO.

Miami FL @palestra. Barclay Center in November - two games from Rutgers.Vandy and UVA. Two other opponents at Gola part of this package. If I'm wrong I'm sure someone will correct me.
Why would we want our two bigs to be taking 12-15 foot jumpers? Why not develop something 6-7 feet from basket? A little banker off the glass ( almost disappeared from today's game). A little jumper from the lane. A half hook. Both need to draw fouls. Both can improve their FT shooting. Both can also improve their passing.

Seeing how far off so many were with the predictions for this year, why on earth would anyone want to try and predict next year's record?

However many feet we're talking about, I don't think it should be a hard sell for either one of them. Both have a shot at playing at the next level (Europe, etc). They both will need something further from the basket. If talking about 10-12 foot jumpers, IMO that is a matter of repetition. Take a hundred or so a day until it becomes natural. As it is now, neither even contemplate it, making it easier to guard them. I also like bank shots - always have. Agree it's a lost art.

What do we need to do to get an NIT bid? How many wins? How far into the A10 tournament? I know Screamer thinks we can win it but I don't have that feeling like I did last year. Last year I just knew we were going to do something. I thought it was win the Big 5 outright but we lost to Temple. Then I thought A 10 tourny run and we got bounced out and then the long long wait to see if we were in. THEN it happened. I just don't feel it this year. I want to but it's just not there. If by a miracle we can get hot from the outside maybe we could do some damage but we need like 55% from three to have any chance IMO. What are your thoughts and post season predictions?

I'll stick with the original question. Of course, many feel burned by overly optimistic expectations before this season. But I'm more optimistic than a .500 season record. I think the bigs' game will be similar if not improve somewhat as seniors. I expect the team to shake-out in the OOC schedule then continue to improve during the A 10 portion. The biggest question for me is who will be the team-leader(s). I'm looking forward to see all of the new players in '14-'15,
